Bill, very timely indeed, thank you for sharing. We are noticing a higher than usual flux, perhaps net +ve but certainly of concern when we lose ‘that visionary leader’ who had been hidden in plain sight but realize the loss, only upon their departure. -Khursheed

The consensus in the comments seems to favour number 4 and rethinking talent practices certainly holds huge potential. At the risk of upsetting the balance of the graphic, I'd add a 5th: invest in tools. All the tools we currently use in knowledge-based work and HR were designed for a previous era of work, and prior definitions of productivity and performance. If software largely governs what happens at work, software needs to change - a lot.
