Last week, we had the opportunity to take part in a meeting with the Advisory Board of the WILLOW Project EU in Gent, Belgium. This gathering brought together a diverse group of experts from across the offshore wind energy sector to review the progress and delve into key technical aspects of this important initiative. 🇪🇺 🌊 A key focus of the discussions was the design of a novel Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system. This system is set to provide high-quality data for reliable fleet life assessments, informed by both physical models and data-driven AI methods. The goal is to aid in decision-making and maintenance scheduling, ultimately contributing to a reduction in the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) and an increase in Annual Energy Production (AEP). We are very excited about the progress we’re making and the potential impact of our collective efforts. Together, we are paving the way for a more sustainable and economically viable offshore wind energy sector.
