MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands) Last week the first and very successful WiSP3 face-to-face meeting took place at MARIN, discussing the progress and way forward with the 34 participants. This meeting was held as part of the Vessel Operator Forum, enabling excellent networking opportunities. 🌬️ Wind propulsion is expected to be boosting 💥 the coming years in view of the decarbonization of the maritime industry. Transparent performance predictions, using validated tools and clear rules and regulations are key to the success of wind propulsion.

If you are not inclined to build new, then this is how you can position your existing fleet to participate in the US offshore wind space, and if you are building then extend the vessel's capabilities. #JonesAct #OffshoreWind
#USA! If you are thinking about putting your idle vessels to use or enabling a cable or mooring line installation using local tonnage, you should come listen to Aleksandra Jurczak CMktr who will be presenting this time next month at Floating Wind Solutions in Houston. Of course, there's no need to wait if you are ready to maximise your opportunities now - speak to our expert team who will work with your vessel/product/scope to identify a spread tailored to you: https://lnkd.in/dk8cQam . #TrusttheExperts #thinkdifferent #challengeeverything

Athena will be presenting at BEOS on the 27th March in London on opportunities in the West of Shetland. An example is shown below - Hale a 1.2 tcf recoverable gas prospect with amplitude and AVO support. Red is soft on the seismic line (ultra far stack) shown. Hale is one of several large (1tcf+ recoverable) features that Athena recognise which could open up a major new gas hub on the UKCS. Get away from all those mature area issues on the UKCS - hub longevity, electrification, emissions reduction, no routine flaring etc. The West of Shetland has the potential to be a major new low emissions gas hub powered from shore with none of these issues.

Midnight, one more night without sleepin' Watchin', till the morning comes creepin' Blue door, what's that offshore wind insight you're keepin'? There’s no old piano, playing hot or otherwise behind the doors in our advent calendar, but there is an insight into the things that interest us and what makes us most hopeful for the future. So there’s no need to wonder what’s behind at least seven of the blue doors – you can open them on our advent calendar now! https://lnkd.in/eBsiNmAu

Axiom’s weekly WTIV fleet report has been published on OffshoreLinks. Major updates below: -The DEME heavy lift vessel, Innovation, departed the Netherlands and sailed to La Rochelle, France. Innovation is due to start a monopile installation campaign on the Iles d'Yeu et de Noirmoutier offshore wind farm -Jan De Nul’s WTIV Vole au Vent arrived on location at the Calvados wind farm, France. The vessel will be working on the installation of monopiles

Did you know that no two suction sail solutions offer equal polars? 🤔 Or that the negative impact of increased drag from a wind propulsion device is negligible compared to the added cost of a tilting system? 😮 We are part of the Wind Propulsion Working Group, organized by the Global Industry Alliance (GIA) under the International Maritime Organization. Our main objective is to enhance knowledge and understanding of Wind Propulsion Technologies (WPTs), reduce barriers to their adoption, and foster industry movement towards greater use of WPTs. 🚢 At the first Low Carbon GIA WPT Roundtable, we were responsible for explaining the operation of suction sails and addressing common misconceptions to lower these barriers. 👀 Curious to learn more? Read on to discover the truths and not let anybody fool you 😉 #shipsandshipping #windpropulsion International Maritime Organization Gavin Allwright

On assigment at "Horn Sea" II, with a total lending capacity of 2.5 GW ("horn sea I & II"), the world's largest wind farm, off the coast of England. First time for me onboard a latest-generation SOV. An incredible level of technical sophistication, level of confort, optimised energy consumption and yields rarely achieved on vessels of this size.
