RAMS stands for Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety. It has been my life for about 20 years now and not a day goes by that I regret my choice. But it all started by chance, when someone, considering my background in both electronics engineering and quality, figured I would be a good fit for his RAMS team. So sometimes, all you need is to open a door you did not even know could open for you, and you are onboard for a long journey. This small introduction aims at, maybe, raising the curiosity of Bachelor or Masters students looking for an internship at ESA but unsure what to select among the two applications they are allowed out of a very long list. So why not consider the attached offer as an intern in RAMS? This offer, for which I will act as the technical officer, actually covers mainly one part of RAMS: Reliability – the exact same aspect I started on years ago. The intern will be integrated into a nice international team of RAMS experts, working on any type of spacecraft for science, exploration, connectivity, …. Missions. It will be at ESTEC, the biggest site of ESA, located in the Netherlands. The context of the offer: For years now, the European space community has been looking for better ways to perform reliability calculations ( e.g. the probability of success over the mission duration), and finally, the result of years of hard work will be the focus of an ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) handbook to be published at the end of the internship. The exchanges between all the main stakeholders of the European Space community are currently ongoing, and ESA is looking for a person who could help finalize the effort. Directly working with me, the intern would have as main tasks to: - Identify the main axes of improvement in the ongoing work, with my support - Propose solutions of improvement - Coordinate with the different industrials from the working group, to propose synergies and optimized solutions - Perform reliability calculations on electronics, mechanical and miscellaneous units on application from missions of ESA – for electronics, it is based on FIDES adapted to space - Update the website/digital platform currently supporting the content of the handbook At the end of the 6 months, the intern will have gained experience in an international environment, in the context of Space applications, for ESA, working exclusively in English, and last but not least some tremendous knowledge and understanding of the current and future reliability perspectives. This is a unique experience to learn first hand the main aspects of reliability applied to spacecrafts, that would open career perspectives, in RAMS but not only, as other domains are connected to RAMS notions like quality, system engineering, debris mitigation... If you are interested in applying for the offer, please do it through the link, I do not collect CV or resumes directly. #reliability #internship #FIDES #ESA #space #RAMS

3rd Year Semester 2 (5/7/24) Research Methodology for Art and Design [Research Proposal Poster] I have created a poster that includes the thesis information for the research and methodology subject. Subsequent to their respective majors, each design student determines their own title. My group selected the title "Sustainable Product Design: Emphasizing the Reduction of Environmental Design through Material Selection." In this subject, we investigate the extent to which each material employed in product design is capable of enhancing environmental sustainability. By employing innovative and imaginative materials, it is possible to cultivate exceptional designers. This will enable us to nurture the species that inhabit our environment. This endeavor has provided me with the knowledge necessary to create a thesis that is both informative and visually appealing for my final year.

I'm always harping on about the importance of the creative arts. As the late, great Sir Ken Robinson said "Creativity now is as important in education as literacy, and we should treat it with the same status" This short video clip is a brilliant example of how transferable skills developed through crafting led to a career in engineering #CreativeArts #ArtsAndCrafts #CreativeEducation #Creativity #STEM #STEAM #WomenInSTEM #TransferableSkills https://lnkd.in/eKqip4hD
Heritage Crafts on Instagram: "This is one of the reasons craft skills are so vital! The satellite company couldn’t find the skills it needed in the engineering world so turned to this woman’s craft business! 👏"
