However, the history of modern mixology began in the 19th century when the first cocktails and bars appeared. Over time, mixology has become a true art, where bartenders create unique and innovative drinks using a variety of spirits, syrups, fruits, herbs, and other ingredients. Today, mixology has become an integral part of entertainment and gastronomy culture, and bars around the world offer a wide selection of cocktails for the most discerning connoisseurs.

It was wonderful working with the Wine Market Council, as well as Heidi Scheid of Scheid Family and Dan Petroski of Massican, to dive into the motives behind these shifting consumer preferences. The full article is now available in the June Wine Analytics Report https://lnkd.in/gFrqzKP2
Why are White Wines gaining in popularity around the world? This is the topic that author, Sarah Brown with WineBusiness Monthly Analytics focused on in her recent article, where she included some of our WINE MARKET COUNCIL research findings. Some of the main reasons are that consumers are now seeking lighter, fresher wines to pair with multicultural cuisines, such sauvignon blanc and vermentino with Mexican cuisine, and pinot grigio with Asian cuisine. Thanks Sarah! https://lnkd.in/gGmJghEJ

Global Wine Etiquette Tips 🍷 Toasting a new business deal is more than just a simple celebration; it’s a key aspect of cultural intelligence. Observing the correct drinking etiquette is crucial to showing respect and understanding in cross-cultural situations, where getting it wrong can send the wrong message. Here’s a quick guide to drinking etiquette around the world: 1️⃣ The French often enjoy wine with meals, emphasizing the importance of pairing wine with food. When drinking wine in France, it’s customary to make eye contact when toasting and to savor each sip slowly, appreciating the wine’s aroma and flavor. 2️⃣ Italians believe in enjoying wine with loved ones and often serve it during meals. A common custom is the cin cin toast, where everyone clinks glasses and makes a heartfelt wish for good health and happiness. 3️⃣ In Spanish wine bars, or bodegas, it’s common to stand and socialize while enjoying wine and tapas, creating a lively and communal atmosphere. Comment down the country you’d like to know more about in the comments below and I’ll come back with a part 2. Cheers 🥂 #sonalholland #masterofwine #wineetiquete #winelovers #wineexpert #toast #globalwineetiquette
