Sex ed did us dirty (if we even got it at all) So here are 3 stats we never learned, but everyone should know: 🔺 90% of women have a risk factor for period and fertility issues that can be modified or prevented. And I'm willing to bet 100% of us have room to improve our reproductive health. So learning more will benefit all of us - no matter how healthy we think we are. 🔺 20-30% of all infertility cases are solely due to male factor infertility, and is a contributing factor to 50% (yes HALF) of all infertility cases. These first two stats alone prove all parties need to be prepping accordingly! And since it takes about 90 days for an egg to develop to ovulation, and 74 days for spermatogenesis to take place - support needs to happen months in advance. 🔺 And frankly one of the most disturbing stats of all: 80% of maternal deaths are preventable. We can't talk about the abysmal maternal death rates without acknowledging the deep racism in reproductive health and care, as Black women are dying at 2.5x the rate of their white counterparts. To tackle an unjust system, we all need to be involved in proactively educating ourselves and each other. We need to shout it from the rooftops to fill these huge gaps in care we were left with. This is more than just improving your fertility odds for the future, it's about saving lives. My favorite way to combat these stats? Getting time on your side. Proactive fertility health WILL serve you - no matter your future goals, desire for kids, or timeline. ~~ "Fertility Empowered" is my signature 4-hour fertility crash course that teaches you how to never worry about the things that can be proactively handled. According to the World Health Organization, roughly 1 in 6 people globally experience infertility at some point in their lives. This translates to millions of individuals and couples facing the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of involuntary childlessness. Interestingly, infertility rates show surprising consistency across high-, middle-, and low-income countries, with an estimated prevalence of 17.8% and 16.5%, respectively. However, access to affordable, high-quality fertility care remains a significant barrier, particularly for those in low-income countries like South Africa, compared to their counterparts in middle and high-income nations. This is where VitruvianMD steps in. We are committed to advancing reproductive health equity and empowering individuals and couples on their journeys towards parenthood. We go beyond simply advocating – we're at the forefront of innovation in this field. We've developed a world-first, AI-powered sperm DNA fragmentation screening method that facilitates faster, more accurate, and more cost-effective diagnoses. In a world where political decisions increasingly encroach on personal freedoms, Gwen Walz’s decision to share her deeply personal fertility journey is a powerful reminder of the human cost behind legislative actions. It’s not just about statistics or court rulings; it’s about real people, real families, and the emotional battles they endure. Her story isn’t just a narrative of struggle and triumph but a call to action. It highlights how personal experiences can shape public discourse and inspire change. By stepping forward, she not only offers solace to others facing similar challenges but also raises critical questions about the role of government in our private lives. As we reflect on her journey, we’re reminded that the most effective advocacy often comes from those who have lived through the very issues being debated. It’s a potent reminder that behind every policy is a person, and behind every person is a story worth telling.
In new comments, Gwen Walz, the wife of Democratic vice presidential contender Tim Walz, discusses for the first time what she calls the "incredibly personal and difficult experience" of using fertility treatments to have children. https://trib.al/nnDVloQ

Imbalances in luteinizing hormone (LH) levels can have significant effects on reproductive health and may indicate underlying issues. Overall, LH plays a central role in maintaining reproductive health and fertility, making it a vital hormone for the proper functioning of the reproductive system in both genders. Here are some potential consequences of LH imbalance: 1. **Ovulatory Disorders (Females):** Low or high levels of LH can disrupt the normal menstrual cycle, leading to irregular ovulation or anovulation (lack of ovulation). This can contribute to infertility and menstrual irregularities. 2. **Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS):** Elevated LH levels relative to follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) are commonly observed in women with PCOS. This hormonal imbalance is associated with irregular periods, ovarian cysts, and difficulties in conceiving. 3. **Delayed or Early Puberty:** An imbalance in LH during puberty can lead to early or delayed onset of puberty, affecting the development of secondary sexual characteristics. 4. **Menstrual Irregularities:** LH imbalances can contribute to irregular menstrual cycles, including conditions like oligomenorrhea (infrequent menstruation) or amenorrhea (absence of menstruation). 5. **Impaired Fertility:** Both high and low levels of LH can impact fertility. In females, disrupted ovulation can hinder conception, while in males, reduced testosterone production may affect sperm quality and quantity. It's essential to note that various factors, including stress, certain medications, and medical conditions, can contribute to LH imbalances. #hormone #hormoneimbalance #hormonehealth #hormonesupport #fertility #hormoneawareness #reproductivehealth #drnanditapalshetkar
