Hello! 🎉 We at Benvenuti Arts have been supporting artists and small arts organizations for almost 10 years, focusing on practical, tactical fundraising and administrative services. It’s clear to us, after all of this time, that fewer financial resources does not equate to lesser work; smaller groups are often so focused on their communities that things like grant writing, donor cultivation, or financial planning must be deprioritized. We want to help, even if you don’t have the resources to work with us directly. It’s with that in mind that we are relaunching our communications channels! With a core value to be of service to the small and mighty arts organizations and artists out there, we will continue with our consulting and capacity building services while building out our public channels to also provide some practical tools to anyone who needs them. In the gauntlet that is post-Thanksgiving consumerist marketing, I tried something new this year (in addition to #optoutside, of course). Rather than being reactive, I sat with my goals and plans first. What is on our list of house priorities for the year that we haven’t gotten to yet? What are the essential pieces I actually would benefit from adding to my wardrobe? Then, I sought out the companies I value and trust to see what deals they had going on. (Even my favorite companies’ emails weren’t bombarding me because most go to my Unroll.Me. I want to be in charge of my choices and not just swayed by the suggestions in my inbox that are based on someone else’s priorities.) This year, my husband and I have also been working to take a similar approach to our philanthropy. It’s our first year working to develop a plan versus being only reactionary. (Shoutout to Social Justice Fund NW for introducing me to the giving plan concept. It’s powerful for donors giving at all amounts.) Our plan is built around key questions: What do we value and believe in? What do we want to exist in the world or how do we want the world to be for ourselves, for others, for the earth? Headed into #GivingTuesday, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your giving priorities rather than just being responsive. What do you care about? How can you show up accordingly? If one of the things you value is trails and access to the outdoors in Washington state, Washington Trails Association is here to be your partner.

Associations provide so much value to their members. But, sometimes they forget just how great you are! Now’s a perfect time to remind your members about everything your association has to offer. Here’s a few ways to use your existing video and photos to tell the story of the benefits of membership! 1.Remind them why they joined! From eduction to resources to networking, your association connects members to a pool of opportunity. Tell them a story of how it can work for them! 2. Educate on new services. Has your association added some new tools or training? Don’t keep that to yourself! Get the story out! 3. Recruit new members by explaining the benefits of your field. A great way to boost membership, is to get more people into your field. So, tell a story about at the perks of your profession! 4. Hold a contest! A great way to spark enthusiasm is to hold a contest. Design a prize around some of your underutilized resources. Shoot video and document the story along the way! 5. Share results and wins! 👉Here is a scenario; The High School Music Ensemble is hosting a Fundraiser on November 1st. Obviously, I will add that to the calendar on the 13th, along with the details for tickets (when to get them, where to get them, how much they are) and the details of the event. And if it is readily available, I may describe what the group does and what they are raising money for. 👉They are selling early bird tickets from October 6th through October 13th - I will add an event on the 6th that says, "Early Bird Ticket Sales start today!" and then list the details of the sales and the event. I will also make an event on the 13th that says "Last day for Early Bird Tickets" and list the details again. That way, if someone isn't looking all the way to November 1st, they still see the event this week and know to get their tickets. 👍Your event managers will appreciate this because people seam to be slower and slower at purchasing tickets ahead of time, and this makes planning more difficult, especially if you have a caterer. 👍Your community will appreciate it because it gives them more opportunities to see the event. #eventcalendar #marketing #buildingstrongcommunities #earlybird #lastday #raisingmoney #ticketsales #eventmanagers #scenario #events
