Please support if you can and are willing; every penny counts to go up against established parties. https://gofund.me/392f8c2c #Erewash My SIXTH pledge is about 2 items; the first, I would work in my role as an MP to STOP the sell-off of Royal Mail to overseas investors; the Royal Mail is a National strategic asset And the second is to endure fair recompense to the Victims of the #PostOfficeScandal and for payments to be made without delay https://lnkd.in/eFX5EJkJ Some affected were sub-postmasters who owned the property, others were leaseholders, and some were staff. If I were setting up a scheme, it would look like the following, but, of course, I would speak to all parties involved to refine the idea. It would be 1) Freeholders - the current value of the property (as a trading office, even if that is no longer the case) less wherever they got for the fire sale after losing the Post office, plus 10 years salary (Claimants have a duty to mitigate their losses, so that seems reasonable) plus £350,000 standard compensation plus £1000 per day they spent in prison or police custody, halved if on tag and community work ordered paid at £100 per 8 hours completed. 2) Leaseholder - the current value of the property (as a trading office, even if that is no longer the case) less wherever they got for the fire sale after losing the Post office and minus how much rent they would have paid, plus 10 years salary (Claimants have a duty to mitigate their losses, so that seems reasonable) plus £275,000 standard compensation plus £1000 per day they spent in prison or police custody, halved if on tag and community work paid at £100 per 8 hours completed. 3) Staff (Manager of Agency Branches (now referred to as Franchise Partners) 10 years salary (Claimants have a duty to mitigate their losses, so that seems reasonable) plus £150,000 standard compensation plus £1000 per day they spent in prison or police custody, halved if on tag and community work paid at £100 per 8 hours completed." Convictions overturned. #JFSA #PostOffceScandal #PostOfficeInquiry #royalmail #postoffice

Sometimes the best advice for a client is to do nothing. I saw clients recently who had Wills that included protective trusts. These clients didn’t understand what the trusts did and wanted to re-write their Wills without the trusts. I went to see them and explained the Wills and the trusts to them, outlining the protections they had and the risks to their estates of removing the trusts. My advice was not to make new Wills. They would simply pay good money to put themselves in a more exposed position. They were both very grateful. #Wills #estateplanning #lastingpowersofattorney

Butler to the World: By Oliver Bullough How Britain Became the Servant of Tycoons, Tax Dodgers, Kleptocrats and Criminals. A timely exposé of how the UK helps oligarchs, gangsters and money launderers spend and store their wealth. He shows how, time and again, wealthy individuals arriving in the UK rely on the same army of professional advisers who help them buy up prime real estate, with the properties registered using a web of offshore shell companies. Generous public donations to universities, arts foundations and political parties bestow a certain kind of British respectability, and grease the way for introductions to members of the royal family and ministers. https://lnkd.in/ewS4CY-E.

📢 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! 🎄 BICCU Memorandum to Members Regarding the Operation of the Christmas Club Account This memorandum is addressed to all members of Bahama Islands Co-operative Credit Union Limited (BICCU) who currently hold funds in our Christmas Club Account. The Christmas Club Account was established to encourage members to save monthly to assist with Christmas holiday spending. The intent of the credit union was for all funds accumulated in the Christmas Club Account to be fully withdrawn annually during the period November 15th to December 31st. 🎁 Understanding that there may be emergency matters beyond Christmas spending, the credit union saw fit to allow two free withdrawals from the account each year, exclusive of the Christmas holiday withdrawal. ⚠️ The Board and management have noted that the Christmas Club Account is not being utilized as intended, as many members are not withdrawing funds during the Christmas holiday. We therefore hereby give notice that all funds must be withdrawn by December 31st, 2024. Failure to do so will result in an automatic transfer of the balance to a non-interest-bearing account (KALL Account). 💼 Additionally, starting January 1st, 2025, the Christmas Club Account will be capped at $25,000.00. We encourage all members to visit the credit union before the end of the year to transfer your funds to other product offerings such as the one, three, or five-year fixed deposit accounts, which offer higher interest rates. 📈 #BICCU #ChristmasClub #ImportantUpdate #FinancialNotice #Savings

Evanston, Illinois has enacted a #reparations fund for its Black residents who were at least 18 years old from 1919 until 1969 and their descendants who were affected by systemically racist policies, mainly redlining. Now five years later, millions in funding will be transferred to one of Illinois’s only Black-owned banks. https://lnkd.in/e7tSJukM #MRX #MarketResearch #MulticulturalResearch #Insights #Redlining #SystemicRacism
