Instead, we should deliver incremental value to the business—whether automating a task, generating a report, or addressing a specific pain point. 🌟 Prioritizing Business Needs Over Perfection 🌟 It's not about delivering a complete system; it's about identifying and tackling areas that bring the most value. Address the biggest challenges first to bring solutions to production quickly and add immediate value. However, this approach comes with its own set of challenges. Delivering something quickly means resisting the urge to perfect every module. The quicker we solve pain points, the more value we add. Senior developers can shine by providing efficient solutions swiftly. 🚀 The Role of Senior Developers 🚀 Senior developers, this is your time to demonstrate your skills! It's about delivering solutions that make the company more profitable, not just writing elegant or efficient code. Don't get me wrong, efficiency, security, and elegance are crucial. But sometimes, we lose sight of why we're developing a solution in the first place. We need to ensure our solutions are technically sound and business-relevant. I once challenged a senior security engineer that our cloud environment was so secure we couldn't deploy any new solutions. We were the safest company in the world, but couldn't make money because no new solutions could be deployed to production. This highlights the need for balance. 🔍 Focusing on Business Value 🔍 Our goal should always be to deliver value to the business quickly and efficiently. Focus on the biggest pain points and automate impactful areas first. By doing so, we can demonstrate the true value of our development efforts. Let's continue to prioritize maintainable, business-driven solutions over the pursuit of perfection. This approach showcases our skills as developers and drives tangible business outcomes.
