**Clinician Success Story: Overcoming Obstacles Together** Hey everyone, I wanted to share a recent experience that highlights why I love what I do! About 13 weeks ago, I connected with a fantastic clinician. We submitted him for a position, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out, and he accepted an offer through another agency. Fast forward to today – the hospital he’s at now wants to extend him (amazing news! 🎉), but there's a twist: his agency is closing, leaving him without representation for the extension. I’m currently working with him to see if my agency can step in and represent him for this extension. But if it doesn’t pan out, I’m committed to finding a solution, even if that means connecting him with another recruiter whose agency can support him. Because for me, a win isn’t just about adding headcount to my desk. A win means helping my connections land the job they want and supporting them every step of the way, no matter where they are in their journey. 💪 If you're a recruiter, reach out to me, maybe your agency works with this client! Let’s collaborate to help this clinician find the right path forward. 🤝 And to all the healthcare pros looking for support or your next adventure – I’m here to help you find the right opportunity! Feel free to contact me at (414) 269-4541 or Allie.Torres@Excelmedstaff.com. Let’s make your next move the best one yet! 🌟 #ExcelMedStaff #HealthcareHeroes #ClinicianSuccess #Teamwork #HealthcareRecruitment #AlliedHealth #NurseLife #TravelNurse #WorkWithMe #RecruitersConnect

Your family and friends will judge you. Your colleagues and managers will judge you. Random strangers you meet at a party will judge you. 🙃 This is the reality for most healthcare professionals seeking alternative and non-traditional career paths. We're often made to feel guilty or ashamed for wanting to do something new and for not following the status-quo. We're made to feel guilty when we decide we don't want to sacrifice every aspect of our lives for a traditional clinical career. We want to help people, it's what drives most of us to get into healthcare....but we also want more. We want supportive, caring, non-toxic teams. We want good pay (which is the absolute least we deserve). We want more time to rest and more time with our family and friends. We want time to connect with our personal needs and to look after our own health. But sadly, we can't always find that within the current systems we work for. So we try to forge new paths because we don't just want to survive, we want to thrive - like so many others do! But the fear of judgement stops way too many of us. Alongside the judgement, the endless persuasive voices telling us to "just stick it out another couple of years" or "just hit the next milestone" convinces us to stay on paths we aren't quite sure we want to be on. Judgement and stigma can be extremely powerful tools in preventing us from building the type of career that we really love and that really energises us. Far too many of us are far too miserable, for far too long, because of the fear of judgment. But you know what? It's coming anyway!!!! Whether you do what you want to do or not, you will ALWAYS be judged by SOMEONE out there. So in the end all that's really left to say is...go ahead and judge me, I'm forging my own path whether you like it or not. Hehe! 😁 #healthcareers #careerchange #healthtech #healthcareprofessionals -- 📌 Follow for more posts for healthcare professionals seeking alternative careers. 💚 Join the waitlist for our community here (launching May 1st): https://lnkd.in/efNmDpfC #healthtechjobs #healthtech #medtech #medtechjobs

Previous experience is no guarantee of success. I've screened a number of candidates who look to move companies when they should leave the care industry. The main reasons were that the industry doesn't meet their requirements (e.g. flex working pattern) or, they were not suited to the work (although in some cases a move from residential to community support work can resolve the need for flex work). For entry level positions it's more about the individual character, ability and interest of the individual provided it is backed by decent induction and training. For experienced hires (and provided they can't promote from within} then there could be valid reasons for asking for previous experience. As long as we understand why the criteria is set and explored the possibility of flexing the spec then we've done what we can. We also need to be mindful that care work is still perceived as unattractive, easy to get into and unskilled. It's not a job for everyone and we need to balance the needs for quantity and quality.

I’m sick and tired of hearing and reading about care companies who are only calling people for an interview if they have previous professional care experience. This mentality is so ignorant it’s unbelievable. The fact that 100% of care staff started working in care with no care experience ends the argument straight away. If you and you’re team have this outlook, I’m telling you, in the nicest way possible, you will fail as a care business and you will destroy the care industry. Start treating people with no care experience better, please. Thank you. #carerecruitment #retention #values

My career has been far from "perfect" 🔶 Age 19: Began my career in the medical field (thinking it was my forever path). 🔶 After 8 years of bedside care, I was burnt out, exhausted, and tired of living paycheck to paycheck. 🔶 Age 27: Quit my job and walked away from it all. 🔶Scaled to 6 figures within 2 months (more than I ever made in healthcare). 🔶 Went on to build 3 successful online businesses. 🔶 Now focus on helping women who are burnt out and ready to reinvent their careers, income, and lives. If I can turn my career around (and help thousands of others along the way) by age 32 Then anything is possible for you too, no matter your age or background. What's your career journey been like so far? Have you ever felt stuck in a job that was meant to be your "forever career," but just didn’t fulfill you the way you expected? What’s holding you back from making a change? #CareerReinvention #BurnoutRecovery #WomenEmpoweringWomen #TransitioningTeachers #Healthcare

As a former practicing OT, I always encouraged my patients to "move forward," emphasizing that dwelling on the past can hinder progress. A significant aspect of being a therapist is serving as a cheerleader, despite facing resistance at times. Transitioning to a healthcare recruiter role, I've realized it's no easy feat. Rejection can be disheartening, navigating the ever-changing market can be challenging, and misconceptions about our intentions can be frustrating. In what feels like a stagnant market, how do we keep pushing forward? It may involve taking breaks, connecting with loved ones, or prioritizing self-care. Let's not allow ourselves to regress. Instead, let's seek that uphill momentum to keep forging ahead. #KeepMovingForward #HealthcareRecruitment #ExcelMedStaff #HealthCareOpportunities #AlliedHealthJobs #Healthcareindustry

🌟 Grandparenting vs. Healthcare Staffing: Turns Out, I’m Rocking Both! 🌟 Who knew juggling grandkids and healthcare staffing would have so much in common? Whether I'm managing toddlers or talent, the skills overlap in ways you wouldn’t expect. Let me break it down: 👶 Spoiling Grandkids vs. 🤝 Spoiling Clients As a grandparent, I’m the queen of sneaking sweets and making memories. In staffing, I spoil my clients and candidates with top-notch service and perfectly matched opportunities. They get the good stuff too—just in the form of career growth! ⏳ Patience (But Let’s Be Real…) vs. ⚡ Speed (Because Deadlines!) Grandparents are known for patience… but let’s be real, even I can only handle so many rounds of “Baby Shark.” In staffing? No time for that! We move fast to match the best healthcare professionals with the right jobs, and we do it without missing a beat. You want fast results? I'm your go-to! 🎯 Life Lessons vs. 💼 Career Lessons I’m the wise sage for my grandkids (because obviously, Lola knows best). In staffing, I’m the career coach, connecting people with opportunities that transform their lives—because career glow-ups are a thing! ❤️ All the Love vs. 💪 All the Hustle Grandparenting comes with endless love, hugs, and maybe a few extra cookies. Healthcare staffing? It’s all hustle, heart, and making sure every candidate and client feels supported like family. (Minus the cookies, but I’ll throw in some encouragement!) Bottom line: Whether I’m wrangling grandkids or placing top-tier healthcare talent, I’m all in—and I’m crushing it. 💥 P.S. I just found out last night that I have a granddaughter on the way...coming soon April 7, 2025! #SuperGrandma #HealthcareStaffingBoss #MultitaskingMaster #EmpoweringOthers #CareerMagic

It hit me the other day when I was talking to a friend who needed help getting his new business up and running. What do most people say when you offer them help? "No, thank you. I am ok." They turn you down! Why is that? It's because your offer was too vague! The recipient might not even know themselves. When I asked my friend, 'How can I help you?' He declined my help. But then I tried again. I got more specific. I asked if he needed any help with HR or hiring people. Boom. Yes, in fact, he did. My question led to an hour-long conversation during which I helped him iron out some parts of his hiring process. It was just a slight change, but it made a huge difference. If you are offering to help someone, first, don't let their initial no turn you away. Second, get specific! Have you found this to be the case as well?
