What skills are required to become a wiring harness engineer in a host factory? 1、 Solid professional knowledge and skills Wire harness engineers are mainly responsible for the design and development of wire harnesses and materials, including the principles of vehicle wire harnesses, 3D and 2D data drawing, wire harness development process file preparation, and wire harness trial production process problem solving. We should have solid professional knowledge and master relevant design software skills. 2、 Good communication and coordination skills There are many boundaries in the design of wiring harnesses, which require effective communication and coordination with various departments and suppliers. It is necessary to be able to accurately express one's own ideas and opinions, and understand the needs and problems of others in order to ensure the smooth progress of the project. 3、 Ability to solve problems During the development process of the entire vehicle project, it is inevitable to encounter various problems and challenges, such as electrical faults in various prototype vehicles, interference in wiring harnesses, experimental failures of wiring harnesses and components, changes in project requirements, frequent design changes, etc. We need to have the ability to independently solve problems, be able to quickly and effectively identify the root cause of problems and take effective measures, be good at summarizing experiences and lessons, and continuously improve work processes and methods. 4、 Quality awareness The wiring harness is often regarded as the neural network system of the entire vehicle, and any problem can lead to system level failures. Wire harness engineers need to have a strong sense of quality and pay attention to every detail to ensure that the designed wire harness system can meet high quality standards. 5、 Teamwork ability Wire harness issues are often complex and ever-changing, with various demands that are diverse and urgent. Wire harness engineers must work closely with team members to complete work tasks together. It is recommended that everyone actively participate in or organize team activities to continuously improve team cohesion and work efficiency. The above is my thoughts on what skills a wiring harness engineer needs to possess. Do you think what I said is correct? Feel free to leave a message and discuss together! #Connectors #Terminals #CableHarness #CableHarnessManufacturers #CableHarnessManufacturers #CableHarness #WireHarness #componentsdistribution #supplychainmanagerment #Electronicswholesale #Electronicsmanufacturing

What's the right level of specialization to have in a small team? I've always thought of my self as a EE/HWE generalist, I connect all the parts together, I have enough knowledge to know what I don't know and to have a gut feeling about the impacts of various trade offs. But I recently had an interview where I was called a specialist. This company has about 8 hardware engineers and they are all generalists doing mechanical, electronics and firmware design. I gather they generally hire EEs and teach the other aspects. To me, this feels a bit crazy. There are no experienced mechanical engineers to guide the mechanical design and no experienced firmware engineers to help really optimize things and more importantly no one in house to learn these skills from. All this got me thinking, how much specialization is optimal for hardware development with a small team?

3 Ways Anyone Can Start Building—No Engineering Degree Required! We live in a happy World. We can create programs using #nocode tools and apps. We can develop hardware using verified reference designs. We can test our projects using various simulation and verification tools. I can continue for a while. You know me. I am not a robotic engineer. I am not a mechanical engineer. I can create a thing or two in FreeCAD, but my skills are, honestly, limited. What do I do when I need to involve a small robot in my content creation activity? I download a few models, combine them and print them. I know this post is not about hardware design or electronics. I just wanted to show off a little 🙃 💡 If you like my work and would like to transform your ideas into an actual product, 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 here on LinkedIn or 𝐚𝐧 𝐞-𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 to the address in the profile💡 #showyourwork #hwidvorakinfo #whoisjohngalt #thatkicadguy

#joke: A manager, a mechanical engineer and a software engineer are testing a new automatic braking system. They take the prototype car to the top of the hill and send it down the hill to see if it will automatically stop before hitting the wall. They release the car and it has a spectacular crash into the wall. The manager and the 2 engineers run down the hill and are looking down on the car from the wall. The manager asks the mechanical engineer, “what should we do?” The mechanical engineer replies, “we should take it back to the shop, analyze the data on the black box, tear apart the system and look at the brake components for failure so that we can root cause the problem. After that we should do a redesign and more testing.” The manager asks the same question to the software engineer who quickly responds, “I think we should bring it back to the top, restart the test and see if it does it again.” #fridayfunny #softwareengineer #mechanicalengineer #automotiveengineer
