Excellent job by KTITOR for burst test chamber. They follow rule 1: don't use concrete. Concrete is very strong in compression, but has terrible impact properties. I've seen many concrete burst test chambers that were really beautiful (and expensive) works of art. They cracked and fractured within the first few tests. Steel is the way to go.

Today we are putting into use the new instrument charged with the #RPVOT oxidation test. The RPVOT (Rotating Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test), described in #ASTM D2112, is a fundamental tool for evaluating the oxidative stability of inhibited #insulating #oils. This method is commonly used to determine the effectiveness of antioxidants in the oil and its ability to resist oxidation, a critical factor in the reliable operation of transformers and other electrical equipment. Inhibited insulating oils, used in transformers and other electrical equipment, must maintain their insulating and thermal properties over time. Oxidation, however, is an inevitable process that can cause chemical alteration of the oil, leading to the formation of acids and sludge that compromise the efficiency of the electrical insulation. The RPVOT test measures the time required for the oil to oxidize under controlled conditions, providing a quantitative assessment of its oxidative stability. The RPVOT test is performed in a closed reactor, where the oil is exposed to pressurized oxygen and an elevated temperature in the presence of a metal catalyst (usually copper). This environment accelerates the oxidation process. During the test, the time required for the system pressure to rapidly decrease is measured, indicating significant consumption of the oxygen present. This parameter, known as the induction time, is directly related to the oxidative resistance of the oil.

In 1993/94, an FCC catalyst fines separator system manufacturer reached out to Cornerstone for valves capable of withstanding high temperatures and abrasive conditions. The valves produced during that period have since been operating in a North American refinery without requiring any service. Consequently, additional valves were installed across various refineries in both North and South America for fines removal and catalyst recirculation systems. Working Principle: When the handwheel or actuator is turned, it rotates the stem, which moves the disc up or down.
