This one thing will 💯X your Christmas this year. 🎄   Stop thinking of Christmas as a season to eat lots, drinks lots, spend lots of money on presents, and lots of time going to gatherings you’d rather pass on.   Because Christmas is A FEELING, a chance to pause, reflect, and soak in the magic you so often rush past.   This time of year has a way of uniting us. It wraps you in warmth if you let it, even when life feels anything but merry and bright.   And I hope you’ll find:   🌟 Fun in the little things, from the local choir carolling around the public tree to pulling the wishbone and letting one of the kids win so they can make a wish. 🌟 Festivities that lift your spirits, no matter how small or understated your versions are. 🌟 Feasts that nourish your body and soul, (let’s agree even cheeseboards count for one month only!). 🌟 Peace that soothes even the messiest corners of your mind.   So, let’s lean into slowing down, even if it’s just for a day or two.   Let’s be open to the glimmers this season offers - moments of harmony, little doses of hope, and unexpected signs of joy.   Christmas represents reconciliation – Reconnecting with yourself. Accepting others. Finding beauty in life’s imperfections   Moreover, it’s vital to take this energy into the new year. Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves to have the ‘perfect’ Christmas? It’s a little messed up… Christmas can bring so much joy, but it can also can create an awful lot of unnecessary stress - especially when it comes to our bank balance…. The pressure to spend money on presents, decorations, and throw flawless celebrations can feel overwhelming. But what if I told you that it doesn’t have to be stressful? The truth is you don’t have to overspend to create beautiful settings & you can actually turn festive stress into joy with a few simple shifts. 1️⃣ Focus on WHY you’re celebrating – What does this season mean to you? Is it your faith, family time, or time to be grateful? Reconnecting with this can really ‘ground’ you. 2️⃣ Celebrate WHO you’re with – The people you love don’t need lavish gifts to feel your care. You know what I am going to say - Your presence is the real present. 3️⃣ Let the WHY & WHO guide your WHAT & HOW – Most of the time, sustained joy is more about the memories we create, the meaningful moments & not material things. Remember, you can create a Christmas that feels completely aligned with who you are without the stress. I don't celebrate Christmas... Christmas used to mean something very different to me- It was all about the food, gifts, and going to see my family... But over the years, something shifted. Now I approach Christmas like I approach every other day... With gratitude and presence. Here's why: 1. Every Day Is a Gift: For me, Christmas is a reminder of something I try to embody every single day- The opportunity to be here, to live another day, and to make the most of it. I don’t need a holiday to remind me to appreciate life. I don’t need an occasion to tell the people I care about how much they mean to me. And I don’t need a reason to treat myself with love and respect... Every day is a chance to reflect. To give. To grow. 2. I Choose Gratitude Over Indulgence: There’s nothing wrong with celebrating. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the season, the food, the traditions. But I’ve learned that overindulgence doesn’t bring me joy. So instead of using Christmas as a break from discipline, I use it as a reminder of gratitude. 3. I Dictate My Own Meaning: If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we all get to define what this season means to us... For some, it’s about family and tradition. For others, it’s a time to reflect or rest. For me, it’s a moment to pause, breathe, and appreciate the opportunity to wake up and live another day... No big feast. No flight home. Just presence. So if you feel like you don’t “fit” the traditional holiday mold, that’s okay. If you’re not celebrating Christmas the way everyone else is, that’s okay too. This Christmas, I’m thankful for one thing above all else: The chance to be here, to live, and to continue striving to become a better version of myself...
