On March 20, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a notice in the Federal Register asking for public comment on a draft framework for public participation: https://lnkd.in/eZY3FbC9 The USGSA co-hosted a listening session on May 10, which I participated in https://lnkd.in/eFXtWhcn Comments for the RFI are due May 17. Relatedly, OMB and GSA are hosting a challenge in which they seek a “toolkit” that federal agencies can use to address the question, “What Public Participation and Community Engagement (PPCE) approaches are effective in increasing reach, improving inclusivity, and promoting public involvement and trust in Federal decision-making.” There’s a webinar about that today, at 3 PM. I hope the folks who run comms at the White House make far more of an effort to make sure Americans hear about all of this than they have so far.
📅 If you have ideas about public participation and engagement approaches which are effective in increasing reach and involvement in federal decision-making, join us tomorrow for a live 20-minute Q&A session from the Office of Management and Budget prize challenge managers. This brief discussion will address questions about the $195K prize challenge from OMB and GSA: "PMA Learning Agenda: Public Participation and Community Engagement Evidence Challenge" and is open to public and federal audiences from 3:00-3:20 pm ET. We hope to see you there! Register at: https://lnkd.in/g9C7DGyp You can learn more about this prize challenge by visiting: https://lnkd.in/efcZvdN8

🟠 The summary report of the EC public consultation on the interim evaluation of the 2021-2027 ESC programme and the final evaluation of the 2018-2020 ESC programme is now out! 📑 The added value of the #ESC compared to other national, European, or international programmes is clear but the need to give greater visibility to the programme, to make it more accessible, to reduce administrative measures, and to standardise differences between Member States interpretation of the rules is stressed. 🤝 The majority of the feedback aligns with that from CEV and other European Networks, engaged with the ESC Programme, joint contribution to respond to the EC Public Consultation. We demand the EC to ensure sufficient resources and strengthen the programme. 👉 Read the summary report here: https://shorturl.at/lASX4 👉 Read our contribution here: https://lnkd.in/dU6i5YTC
