Typical day of a retail pharmacist starts after morning coffee, whether you open or close the pharmacy the positive mindset is what makes your day progress efficiently and be productive. On daily bases away from filling, verifying and checking scripts, helping colleagues, precepting students and troubleshooting insurances the center of it all is the patient care. Each patient/customer has unique needs and requires a mindful approach. Not to mention you may need to change your care to fit each patient on their level, it is not given but rather learned trait through work and relationships. Your retail pharmacist doesn’t “pour pills from big bottle to small vials” then “slap on labels” and hand out medicine, it is a bit more complex. Your retail pharmacist recommends OTC therapies, reviews drug drug interactions, provides important key points on new therapies, and listens patiently as a friend. There is so much more in a day of a retail pharmacist that I can’t possibly squeeze it all here. We all come from various backgrounds and experiences yet we all care for our patients. A simple “Thank you” at the end of the day is what makes me smile and be appreciative of my profession! #dayInTheLife 💉💊🍏❤️

If you have constant pharmacist turnover, the pharmacist are not the problem. What are the chances that all 50 pharmacists your district went through in two years were all bad???? The moment corporate wakes up and realizes it’s an upper management issue and an unrealistic time and metric issue. If you’re not a licensed pharmacist in the state in question under no circumstances should you have the audacity nor do you have the legal authority to intervene with the Pharmacist in Charge. PICs are legally responsible for the entire pharmacy yet they get no authority in reality in corporate chains. PICs should be able to hire staff pharmacists for their store, and no one should be permitted behind that counter without first informing the PIC out of respect. 🫡

Working within the field of pharmacy includes working in different settings and roles. Depending on the setting you work in, you might have different responsibilities, hours, and roles you might need to fulfill. Working as a retail versus a hospital pharmacist will look different and here are key differences between the two. #Pharmacy #PharmLife #PharmTech #RetailPharmacist #HospitalPharmacist

Would you deliberately walk in to an interview wearing nothing but a binbag? No shoes, socks, shirt or jacket? Hopefully not, because first impressions COUNT 🎯 If you're applying for a Pharmacy job, it sounds obvious but please consider the impact of a CV (and this does not stop being relevant the longer you have been qualified). It is your FIRST chance to sell yourself, to show your potential employer why YOU would be a good fit for them, and vice-versa (it's a two-way street). I have honestly received CV's with 4-5 lines on it, and that included their name, current job title and qualification📝 Tailor your CV to the types of role you are interviewing for, include the subtle nuances and buzz words that all helps to form an impression of your capabilities, and your ability to learn and adapt to new environments etc. Try also to keep it to 1-2 A4 pages 💉🩺 Today I've included an example of what to include on a CV that is geared up for a community Pharmacist position: 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Highlight experience with patient counselling, OTC medication advice, and health promotion activities.
