💙👫Here at CIWS, we always strive to get things done; even in the face of difficult times, the wheels must keep turning. It can be challenging to navigate those times, but with a supportive team around us, we can find a way. Our entire team certainly pulls out all the stops, for which we are extremely grateful. ❤️🙏🏼It can be daunting sharing about your personal life when we spend so much time trying to be as professional as possible, but it is ok to not expect too much from yourself when you are going through some of life’s challenges. I will take on board my father’s advice; sometimes, we all need to hear wisdom and accept the things we cannot change. 🏊🏾🌞Continuing to look ahead, there are some exciting projects on the horizon, which we will tell you more about in the coming weeks, but for now, I can say they are sea-related. We really do take pride in the work we are involved in, and we are all committed to ensuring the right results are achieved. 😀Looking forward to sharing some positive news in the coming weeks.

A Night to Remember at the Suffolk Care Awards ✨While we didn’t come away with a trophy last week, being finalists in three categories was a reward in itself. It gave me cause to reflect, it had given us a reason to attend a glittery dinner, dress up, relax and laugh. Not something that happens often enough these days 🤔 What stood out the most wasn’t the accolades, but the experience of attending the awards together as a team. Angela Rippon gave the opening speech and reminded everyone that carers are often undervalued and underpaid ( in my opinion much overused and overstated buzz words without true context, but that’s another story). However we were there to celebrate and recognise the opposite sentiments, after all that's been our vision for the last 11 years. Yes winning would have been icing on the cake but in a way we still won. One of my team wrote afterwards: "I have no doubt that in the coming years, this company will stand out even more, and people will line up to be a part of this team. It’s not just a place to work—it’s a community where you are valued and supported, where the well-being of both staff and clients is paramount." To me, that means more than any trophy ever could. That’s a big WIN It was a reminder that beyond the hard work, the targets, and the day-to-day, we need to take moments to laugh, dress up, and simply enjoy being together. It’s in these experiences that our sense of community thrives. Here’s to celebrating the small victories, the shared moments, and the incredible people that make this journey so rewarding. 🎉 Thank you. #CareCommunity #Teamwork #Celebration #SuffolkCareAwards #ValuedTeam #CultureMatters #Milsoms

At 08:28PM I RACHEL WERSKY SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO ASK FOR A HAND OUT NOR BE DISPLACED FOR ANY REASON. EVICTIONS ARE UNCALLED FOR AND FIREWORKS SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY ILLEGAL BECAUSE THE FIREWORKS ARE MAJORLY HAZORDOUS TO PEOPLES OVERALL HEALTH BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO ARE EMPLOYEES DESERVE TO WORK IN A NON HAZORDOUS WORK ENVIRONMENT. PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER BE OFF OF WORK LATER THAN 23:00PM BECAUSE OF TRAVEL TIMES. CAR ACCIDENTS SHOULD BE LESSENED IN EVERY LOCAL AREA. WHY ARE EMPLOYEES NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR SHORT SLEEVE SHIRTS TO WORK INDOORS? THE HUMAN BRAIN WASN'T DESIGNED TO BE UP 24/7! PEOPLE NEED TO BE ABLE TO HEAL FROM LIFES KNOWN AND UNKNOWN AILMENTS! I DIDN'T INVENT THIS MESSED UP AND WAY TO CONFUSING OF A PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR AN INJURED BRAIN TO FIGURE OUT. I NEVER ASKED FOR INDOOR OR OUTDOOR SMOKE FROM ANY COMPANY THAT'S A BUSINESS BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE AREN'T DESCRETE SMOKERS. IN MY CURRENT LIFE EXPERIENCE I NEED TO WORK AN AFTERNOON SHIFT. I NEVER ASKED FOR CHEMICALS IN MY FOOD! HAVE A GREAT LIFE EVERYONE! 09:54PM ;May Tenth of Twenty Twenty Four.

How do you support your team to grow and develop when there is no hierarchical ladder to climb? As a leader, this is one of my biggest challenges. I want my team to feel fulfilled and to achieve personal growth but as a small business with no management structure this isn't as simple as becoming a Senior this or Head of that. Yes we can offer skills development. They can become even better at delivering great UX insight and accessibility services. But what about other growth areas? The relationships we have? How they feel about themselves? Yesterday, we all stepped out of our comfort zones and with the help of the amazing Sammy Burt explored our development edges. For me, I've learnt how much value I put in productivity. I pride myself on getting stuff done and producing an output, a report, something that shows what I've been doing with my time. But there is also value in taking time to step back and review our long term marketing strategy. To invest in the relationships I have with our clients. To spend time with my family. And I don't need to feel guilty about any of that. And that feels like growth. While there is a way to go, learning that growth can take many different forms feels like a great achievement. Whether it's learning a new skill, experiencing a mindset shift or nurturing a new relationship I hope the team all find something that brings them fulfilment. We’ve had such an amazing team week! Welcoming @alicegreenman back from mat leave and feeling the support from @lucycollins via a day with @sammyburt investing in our growth! #TeamGoals! 😊 Lucy Collins Sophie Knight Alice Greenman Ken Groom Kate Morris Sammy Burt

This is courageous.
As I share this, I'm truly pinching myself—yet, I'm incredibly proud of everything MATN Health Services has achieved over the last 10 months. I vividly recall the countless bus rides where I’d manage payroll, address team issues, and chase invoices—all while relying on my primary job to support my family, as the most I’d typically draw from MATN was around £200 a month, if I was lucky. For over two years, I wrestled with the thought of going full-time with MATN. Ten months ago, I finally faced the giants of uncertainty, comparison, and self-doubt, feeling perhaps I was “too young” or “not quite ready.” But we took the leap. Since then, MATN has been working tirelessly, creating jobs, providing respite for caregivers, offering companionship to those battling loneliness, and empowering individuals fighting against the clock due to health issues. Each day brings new challenges and victories, and I'm grateful to be on this journey. I am thankful for every person who has partnered with, supported, or guided us on this path. Your trust and encouragement have been invaluable, and MATN is what it is today because of you 2 Key Takeaways from the Last 10 Months: Celebrate Today’s Wins: Tomorrow is a new day and brings its own battles—cherish each success as it comes. Life is Short: Having attended numerous funerals this year, I am reminded that we live on borrowed time. Tomorrow may be too late to act on the dreams we hold today. This post is dedicated to my incredible wife(Melissa Mukotekwa-Ngara) and kids, who have weathered long hours, missed family moments, and the stresses of this journey. Soon, very soon, I’ll find the balance we all deserve. Thank you for standing by me.

As the year comes to a close, I can’t help but reflect on what 2024 has meant for us at Food For Education, especially when it comes to employee engagement. Our team is the heartbeat of everything we do, and their dedication is what fuels our mission to create lasting impact for the children and communities we serve. Truly, when people feel engaged, connected, and valued, they bring their whole selves to work - and that’s where the magic happens! Driving engagement isn’t just a box to tick- it’s about nurturing a culture where belonging, purpose, and connection thrive; and building a team that feels seen, valued, and inspired to bring their best every single day. This year, we leaned into some simple (but truly impactful) actions that have made all the difference: ✨ Listening deeply: We opened up more spaces to hear our team—through performance conversations, townhalls, employee satisfaction surveys, team check-ins, and even those casual chats that turn into powerful conversations that inform business process. ✨ Celebrating our people: From shining a light on individual wins to cheering on team milestones (all of which absolutely blew us away!), we showed up to recognize and appreciate the contributions that drive our work ✨ Living our values: Whether in the day-to-day grind or moments of team connection, our shared purpose grounded us, kept us resilient, and reminded us why we do what we do. I'm learning that significant impact often occurs not only during grand, dramatic events but more so through small, seemingly insignificant interactions, decisions, and experiences that accumulate over time, gradually shaping team dynamics. Retrospectively, I’m filled with admiration and gratitude for the dedication, energy, resilience, and heart of every team member who has made this journey possible. Cheers to you Nyawira Njoroge CHRP (K) Irene Kimani Betty Maingi Eva Njaaga Mohamed Abdalla Ian Gitonga Precious Mwinzi. Thank you for your active leadership Wairimu Nyandia. Here’s to even greater connection and growth in 2025! 🚀

In a world where the career path and trajectory is like a gold medal, Kate holds the platinum one. Coming into our world as temp receptionist, straight out of Uni 14 years ago, she asked the questions to understand why the business was doing what we were doing, what my meetings I attended were trying to achieve and how she could support. Naturally curious, with a gentle but commercial approach, she quickly fast tracked into my PA, EA, business assistant and now Director of Operations. Kate is always steps ahead of me, ensuring the strategy is front and centre, the team have the tools and support they need for excellence, and is focused but flexible as needed! Fiercely capable, yet calmly present, what a journey so far Kate! 🌟🌟 And for all those young school and university leavers ready to build a career, this is what it about, when you get a job/internship/work experience…be curious, stay engaged and ask questions and you will start to make your mark. With three young adults at home I say the same to them, they don’t listen to me… they listen to Kate! 💪🏼 If anyone has young people who want advice or support stepping into the working world, just reach out, ask Kate! 🙌🏼 #career #internship #mentor #support #operations #business
Kate has been the heart and soul of The Maine Group for 14 incredible years! As our amazing COO, she keeps everything running seamlessly while bringing positivity to the office. We couldn’t be more grateful to have her as our rock and guiding force! Thank you for everything you do for us Kate! 💖 #workanniversary #coo
