🚀 Introducing the Roche Youth Advisory Board Initiative with Girls Future Ready 🚀 We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Roche Youth Advisory Board, a key part of our broader collaboration with the Girls Future Ready Foundation. This innovative initiative aims to integrate the perspectives of young leaders into Roche’s strategic planning and development. 📅 About the Roche Youth Advisory Board: The Roche Youth Advisory Board will bring together five exceptional youth representatives selected by the GFR Foundation alongside Roche Leadership Team representatives. Mutual Learning: Roche leaders gain valuable insights into the next generation’s mindset, helping to future-proof our strategies. Youth Empowerment: Providing young leaders with the opportunity to contribute directly to Roche’s strategic initiatives fosters their professional growth and development. 🗣️ From Zofia Kierner Kerner, Founder of Girls Future Ready: "There is truly no better place to gain concrete hands-on experience than to work directly with executive leaders who are there to listen to YOU and YOUR perspectives!" Today is #NDSUGivingDay! It's the time you can make a difference in the lives of NDSU researchers! NDSU VPR Colleen Fitzgerald, Ph.D. introduces the Transformative Research Leadership fund and explains how the RCA office supports research at NDSU. This fund will enable our researchers to focus more extensively on their work by providing resources to buy out some of their time commitments. At many other research universities across the country, buyouts of faculty time are normalized as they allow them to rededicate and prioritize their time on research. https://lnkd.in/gM8PUQuv https://lnkd.in/gauyiju8

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of attending the TellUs Summit 2024, an event organized by the University of Navarra that brought together students, academics, industry leaders, and policy makers to discuss global challenges and innovative solutions. Under the theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future Together”, the summit became a unique platform to foster dialogue on some of the most pressing issues of our time, including: ✔️Climate Action: Strategies to combat climate change while driving economic growth. ✔️ Digital Transformation: The ethical and equitable implementation of technology in global development. ✔️ Global Health: Strengthening health systems to create resilient societies. ✔️ Inclusive Governance: Promoting cooperation and good governance for a fairer future. With inspiring keynote speakers, the TellUs Summit empowered participants to think critically, collaborate across disciplines, and take action in their own fields. What stood out to me the most was the emphasis on intergenerational collaboration, ensuring young voices were part of the decision-making process and shaping the vision for a better tomorrow. I’m grateful to have been part of this impactful summit and to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of so many inspiring individuals. Together, we can shape a future where sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity thrive. #TellUsSummit #Sustainability #Innovation #Leadership #GlobalChallenges #UniversityOfNavarra

We're thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of our 2024 Women and Girls in Science Mentorship Programme! This year's programme centred around the question, "How can women in science contribute more to sustainability in my region?" - inspired by the UN's Women and Girls in Science Assembly topic, Women in Science Leadership: A New Era for Sustainability. The programme included many career-developing activities such as creating a career map, a presentation by guest speaker and accomplished Glencore leader, Virginia Lawson, CV development, networking, and personal development advice on topics like how to bounce back from rejection. This incredible initiative has empowered young women to pursue their passions in STEM. Congratulations to this year's participants: Rabelani Nemakanga, Theodrine Reholile Ngaka, Bertha Naingwa, Laura Hederich Peláez and Tovhowani Ndou. We’re excited to see what the future holds for them! This year’s success could not have been achieved without the incredible dedication of our volunteer mentors who generously shared their time and expertise with their mentees. Thank you, Aline Bordin, Brad Barter, Julian David Feria Mosquera, Scott Martin and Jessica van Sliedregt, for contributing to this program. We're grateful for the knowledge and experience you have imparted. Together, we're proud to inspire the next generation of metallurgists and engineers. 👩🎓 👩💻 👩🔬 #WomenAndGirlsInScience #WomenInSTEM #Mentorship #GlencoreTechnology

Participants in a workshop I ran this week asked if there are any free public foresight events coming up. The answer is yes! I figured I would share here too for those who are interested in foresight but perhaps not yet as connected to the wonderful foresight community. There are two online events coming up in early May that I have my eye on: May 1, 2024, 9am EST: Enhancing Women's Leadership In and Through Foresight by Global Foresight Advisory Council (GFAC) This should be a great panel discussion! Moderator: Thays Prado Panelists: Zan Chandler, Bárbara Ferrer Lanz, and Kelsey Volkmann. Free registration here: https://lnkd.in/g-3HcsCN May 7-9, 2024: Policy Horizons Canada - Horizons de politiques Canada (the federal government's strategic foresight department) Futures Week 29 speakers over 3 days! Anyone can register and attend: https://lnkd.in/gSBCkxDM For those who are new to or just starting to learn about foresight: You don't need to be a foresight practitioner to attend these events. If you need that little confidence boost, remind yourself that no one is an expert about the future, but everyone (including you) has expertise that is important to the future. You are not just welcome, you are vital. See you there! #foresight #futuresthinking
