🌐 When it comes to cartilage treatment of the hip, Europe has nothing to hide from the USA! Many therapies that are (still) standard here in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are hardly available in the USA and many other countries around the world. Cartilage cell transplants with chondrospheres or 3D gels, for example, are not possible at all. Together with my friend Jacek Mazek from Poland, I was able to co-chair the ICL3 session for the ISHA in Washington DC (https://lnkd.in/dt7zNeea) and present our experiences, technical how-to videos and the current study situation.  Most important message: “save the subchondral plate!” - Microfracturing of the hip is dead! All recent studies show that microfracturing of full-thickness cartilage damage in the hip leads to worse results than doing “nothing”! And the cartilage regeneration methods with membranes, chondrogenic gels and mACT are much better! Thanks to all participants and the speakers Jacek Mazek, Michel Rahme and Antonio Porthos Salas for their contributions and discussions. Thanks to ISHA for building up this congress - so important for collegial exchange in this field and building up new friendships. 🤝 #ISHA #QKG #CartilageRepair #PAO #HipArthroscopy
