I'm thrilled to share our recent publication in Construction and Building Materials: Post-heating flexural behavior of steel fiber reinforced SCC beams strengthened with NSM-CFRP strips: Experimentation and analytical modeling This study investigates the use of NSM-CFRP strips to enhance the flexural performance of post-fire steel fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (SFR-SCC) beams. Our work covers experimental and analytical insights into how NSM-CFRP reinforcement can significantly improve load capacity, stiffness, and toughness of heat-damaged beams. Key findings include a substantial flexural capacity increase of up to 213% for beams with dual CFRP reinforcement! Last week at TRB and at DaRTS meeting Helene Pehrsson has presented some of her Ph.D. work done in collaboration with Virginia Tech, on using a simplified approach for determining the maximum tensile strain in asphalt pavement.
