🚀 The WoMAB Conference Concluded with Great Success! 🚀 We are delighted to announce that the WoMAB conference has concluded with great success! 🎉 It was an event rich in insights and stimulating discussions on the assessment, strengthening, and maintenance of masonry arch bridges. The final presentation we attended was by Prof. Bassam Izzuddin from Imperial College London, who delivered a contribution titled "Partitioned Modeling for Effective Multi-Fidelity Analysis of Masonry Arch Bridges." His presentation was particularly interesting and in-depth, offering an advanced view of modeling techniques for multi-fidelity analysis of masonry arch bridges. A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers and participants for making this event so memorable! #WoMAB #MasonryArchBridges #Engineering

🎯 EPFL TTO promotes Technology Offering for Licensing 📚💰 In today’s menu: Partial Discharge Localization Using #Time Reversal ⚡🔍 Nowadays, #power #transformers and Gas-Insulated Substations (#GIS) are crucial components of #electrical power #grids. However, detecting and localizing Partial Discharges (PDs), which indicate potential insulation breakdowns, remain challenging. Current methods like electrical, #chemical, #acoustic, and #electromagnetic detection have limitations in accuracy and sensitivity, often requiring multiple #sensors and susceptible to noise interference. 🛑📉 The newly proposed method based on time reversal technology revolutionizes PD localization in power transformers and GIS. 🔄 Time reversal technology enables pinpoint accuracy in locating PD sources within power apparatus. 🎯 Through back propagating recorded signals into transformers or substations via numerical #simulations, this method identifies focal spots with exceptional precision, ensuring early detection and prevention of potential failures. Advantages: 1. Enhanced #Accuracy: Our method achieves pinpoint accuracy in localizing PD sources, overcoming inaccuracies caused by noise and scattering. 🎯📏 2. High #Sensitivity: Unlike traditional methods, our technology is highly sensitive to weak PDs, ensuring early detection and prevention of insulation #breakdowns. 📡🔊 3. #Versatility: Whether it's acoustic or electromagnetic signals, our method adapts seamlessly, making it applicable to various power apparatuses, including transformers and GIS. 💡🔌 Potential Market: 📈 The market for our technology spans utilities, #energy companies, and #infrastructure providers globally. With the increasing demand for reliable power systems, our solution offers a competitive edge by ensuring uninterrupted power supply and minimizing maintenance costs. 💰🔌 Here ➡ https://lnkd.in/ePVC2-cR #technology #epfl #startup #technologytransfer #Innovation #TimeReversal #GridReliability Farhad Rachidi École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL The TTO team Andrea Crottini Mauro Lattuada Adam swetloff Natalia Giovannini Ghislain Singla Lucia Pavan Alberto D. Interflam 2025 We are pleased to announce that 16th Interflam conference will be held again at Royal Holloway College, University of London, from the 30th June to the 2nd of July 2025. We missed our 2022 event due to COVID-19 so it will be good to see colleagues and friends again. It will then be over 50 years since our first event. Who else other than a young Marc Janssens and I were there? We will shortly be issuing a detailed call for papers. These will be eligible for refereed publication in special issues of Fire and Materials Journal. More details will be released shortly so keep an eye out for posts on LinkedIn - especially on the Interflam LinkedIn Group which you can join if you are not already a member (https://lnkd.in/dUGkniv) Steve Grayson office@interflam.co.uk Marc Janssens Sean Gregory Anja Hofmann-Böllinghaus Chris Jelenewicz, P.E., FSFPE Birgitte Messerschmidt Patrick Van Hees Robert Jansson McNamee Yi Wang Eric Guillaume Serge Bourbigot Karen Boyce Nicholas Dembsey John Adam Gales, PhD, PEng Tuula Hakkarainen Anne Steen-Hansen Brian Lattimer, PhD Richard Lyon Alexander Morgan Daniel Nilsson Colleen Wade Koichi Yoshida Hideki Yoshioka Mauro Zammarano Anthony Abu Sergei Levchik #conference #UK #firesafety #interflam25 #fireprotectionmatters #fireprotection #fire #fires #firedamage #fireprevention #firedetection #scienceeducation #scienceandtechnology #scienceandenvironment #FireMaterials #fireservice #engineers #buildings #construction #passivefireprotection #fireprevention #firefighting #fireriskassessment #fireprotectionengineering #fireengineering #professionaldevelopmentprograms #professionaldevelopment #continuingeducation #HumanBehaviourInFire #FlameRetardant #FireDynamics #CombustionProducts #StructuralBehaviour #PerformanceBasedCodes #TheChemsitryOfFire #FireInvestigation #FireSafteyStandards
