Yesterday was International Men’s Day—an important day to recognise and celebrate the men who are making real, tangible steps toward gender equality. At WACL, we would love more men to lean in and create change, too. Not just because it helps women overcome the barriers to leadership that we still face, but because greater gender equality in our companies and society benefits men too. To mark the occasion, we asked five senior women in advertising, and proud WACL members, to celebrate men they admire as forces for good. These are men pushing for progress in our industry and beyond—actively supporting women and championing gender equality through real, tangible actions. By taking steps aligned with the key Levers of Change, these role models are helping to create a more inclusive, equitable world. And we need more of that Here’s to them. 👏 Xavier Rees - CEO at AMV BBDO Nigel Sharrocks - Chairman of Digital Cinema Media Nick Ratcliffe - Customer Experience Director of Volkswagen Group Rak Patel - Head of Sales, EMEA, Spotify (soon to be Chief Commercial Officer at Channel 4) Malcolm White - ex-Founder and CSO of krow group (now retired) You can read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eAkjkQzR Big thanks to our PR partners Propeller Group and Creativebrief for making this happen. 🎉 Happy International Women's Day! 🎉 Today, as we celebrate the achievements and progress made towards gender equality, let's remember that feminism isn't just for women—it's for everyone! 💪 Feminism is about breaking down the barriers and stereotypes that limit us all, regardless of gender. It's about creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their gender identity. As a 3th-wave feminist, I'm proud to support feminism because it's not just about empowering women—it's about creating a more inclusive and equitable society for everyone. When we challenge gender norms and advocate for equal rights and opportunities, we're not only benefiting women but also men. Men, too, benefit from feminism. It frees them from the confines of toxic masculinity, allowing them to express their emotions, pursue their passions, and form meaningful connections based on mutual respect and equality. So let's celebrate International Women's Day by recommitting ourselves to the fight for gender equality. Together, we can create a future where everyone—regardless of gender—can thrive and succeed. #InternationalWomensDay #FeminismForAll #GenderEquality

Are we truly championing gender equality in our workplaces? 🌍 This Women’s History Month, let’s dive deep into the dual narrative of celebrating progress while also acknowledging the persistent challenges women face in achieving professional equity. As we celebrate the monumental strides women have made across industries, it's crucial to remember that the journey towards gender equality is far from over. Do our workplace cultures truly support diversity and inclusion at every level? Here’s something to try: initiate open dialogues within your teams about gender equality. Listen more than you speak, fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, feels valued and heard. This month, commit to one actionable change you can make, whether it’s mentoring, advocating for equitable policies, or simply challenging stereotypes when you see them. Let’s all take a step forward – not just this month but every day – towards a more inclusive and equitable workplace. Happy International Women’s Day! Today and every day I am proud to be an ally for women. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative impact of support, inclusion, and true allyship. It’s time we all pay it forward by celebrating and elevating the incredible women in our lives and committing to being active allies every day. I look forward to #IWD each year because I get to see the many celebrations of the impact and achievements of women; and I also welcome the chance to collectively reflect on the work that lies ahead in achieving gender equality. We each have the power within us to be a catalyst for change by embracing the power each of us has to be an #ally. Often times, allyship is not about grand gestures but the consistent, everyday actions that create a sense of belonging and acceptance. This lesson has stayed with me and shaped my approach to leadership and my commitment to being an ally for others. By actively supporting women, allies can help amplify their voices, advocate for their rights, and create a more inclusive and equitable work environment. When men, in particular, stand as allies for women, they contribute to breaking down gender barriers and set a powerful example for others to follow. Deloitte’s Chair, Lara Abrash is a true champion for gender equality and plays a pivotal role in creating an inclusive environment within our firm. Under her guidance, we are empowering women and promoting diversity at all levels. As allies, our actions can create a ripple effect, leading to transformative change that benefits everyone. As we commemorate #InternationalWomensDay, I encourage each of you to take a moment to reflect on how you can be a better ally for women in your workplace and beyond. Whether it's through listening, advocating, or mentoring, every action counts. Join me in making a difference! Shout out to the women of Clients & Markets Growth and to some of the many women who have made an impact in my career: Lara Abrash, Shelley Duncan, Suzanne Kounkel, Shaundra Mohan, Kirsten Rhodes, Lynne Sterrett, Anda T.. #WomeninLeadership

Being a man in a male-dominated industry, it seems too “easy said” to refer on what should be the standard for our business in terms of gender equality. That’s why I asked my colleague Patricia Narat to share her point of view. Here is what she said: “Did you know that in most industries, the share of women in leadership positions is not representative of the total proportion of women in the company? It is essential to take measures to change this statistic. The advantages of any kind of diversity are no news to us at Forged Technologies: Being international, bringing in different perspectives, fostering innovation and enabling social justice are just a few of the key factors. In several studies, diversity has even been linked to a significant increase in company profitability. International Women’s Day is a specific reminder of the importance of gender equality, which should be a key topic in our society and our work.” Thank you Patricia Narat, I fully agree! Although, we still have a long way to go in our traditionally male-dominated industry, it is our task to actively empower our female colleagues around the world. Therefore, let’s take the time today to thank all our female colleagues for their contributions and achievements in our #TEAMForgedTechnologies. We appreciate the daily efforts and hard work of EVERYBODY in our organization. #TEAMForgedTechnologies #InternationalWomensDay

Representation is power. I was lucky to grow up in Finland, which has a long history of championing gender equality: it was the first country in the world to give all women and all men both the right to vote and the right to run for office. But you can never take gender equality for granted, and, even in Finland, there’s more work to be done. Entering the world of media and marketing, I realised how powerful media is in shaping how we see the world around us, how it impacts what we think, what we believe and who we are as a society. Our view of the world is shaped by what we’re exposed to. That’s why I represented the Unstereotype Alliance in Europe, also speaking to Finnish marketing leaders in 2019 about eradicating harmful stereotypes in all media and advertising content. And today, that’s why I’m very proud to represent SEEHER, and to sign the SeeHer Pledge to Embed: as marketers and media creators, we have a responsibility to hold ourselves accountable for what we create, and to create change through representation. During the 6th Thematic Workshop organised in the DEBUTING Project, Mathias Dyberg, CEO of Elvenite, convincingly explained why "equality is another crucial pillar" in the company's culture: "We see the potential in gender equality, not because we like men or women; we don't have quotas. Our differences, if utilized correctly, are a strength that fosters growth and is one of the reasons behind our success. This is why we integrated it in the company's DNA and work on it on long term, because we are aware that big changes cannot happen within a quarter of a year. We are pragmatic and have both the patience and the confidence that no matter the obstacles encountered, we believe that this is the way to go and thrive on long term". Thank you so much as well to Rachel Palmen insights into inclusive gender equality plans and policies in R&I from an intersectional perspective and to Mikael Johnson for highlighting the importance of core values for sustainable business development. An as always, even if it was the last Themati Workshop, a big thank you to the Karlstad University team for the smooth organisation and faciliation: Manuel Almberg Missner, Tara Mehrabi and Erica Åkerberg and to the DEBUTING partners for great discussions. #genderequality #sustainablebusinessdevelopment #genderequalityplans

International Women’s Day Today, as we commemorate International Women's Day, it's a momentous occasion to reflect on the remarkable journey of women's rights and the strides we've made towards gender equality. This day holds deep historical significance, rooted in the struggles and sacrifices of countless individuals who fought for women's rights, recognition, and empowerment. Feminism, at its core, is about achieving equality and justice for all genders and not about vilifying or generalizing one from the other. Our struggle for gender equality is focused on eradicating outdated norms, stereotypes, and systemic inequalities that affect both women and men. At MOL – Information Technology we are driven by the mission to create a society that is built through collaboration, understanding, and mutual respect. This view is firmly endorsed by our Leadership and has led us with the thought that – “We all must learn from others, talk with each other to understand, and head in the same direction once we have been through this process. In this sense as well, mutual understanding and respect are the very basic foundation that ensures successful collaboration among individuals as well as all genders”. Let us honor the spirit of International Women's Day by fostering an environment of inclusivity, where everyone, regardless of gender, feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. #InternationalWomensDay #MOL #GenderEquality #Respect #Collaboration #Values
