In light of Women's History Month, here is Fairview’s Senior Analyst, Taylor Martin, and her perspective on the data within the landscape for Woman and Minority-owned firms: "In 2023, there was an 11% increase in women-led venture capital and private equity firms in the market and a 16% increase in woman-led firms raising a subsequent fund. Despite remaining significantly underrepresented, we are encouraged by the positive, steady growth of woman-led firms in the industry and particularly by the progression in subsequent funds.” See link to the report here: https://lnkd.in/ewe6bMh8

Women in ETFs 10th Anniversary event is history, but it is just the beginning of further frontiers and progress for women in the industry - thanks to the work of WE's 24 chapters globally, 10,000+members and financial support from our ETF industry sponsors. So many great LinkedIN posts but wanted to share a photo of Margaret Franklin, CFA, Allison Adams, and I. Marg closed the event, talking about her 10-year experiences advancing diversity in the investment industry through the CFA Institute. Particularly inspiring to see my rewarding 10+years as a WE leader linked to my current work as a Governor on the CFA Institute Board. Marg and I first met early in our respective careers in the 1990's as ETFs were being born (first in Canada with the TSE 35). Much progress has been made but more to come, accelerated by great networking/education organizations like Women in ETFs and the CFA Institute. The WE Anniversary Event had so many highlights - Carla Harris was outstanding and gave such good advice, global chapter leaders shared their experiences and best practices, and videos of our events created by current co-President Emily Meyer were memorable. I very moved when the speakers on our industry trends panels shared stories of women who were key influencers for each of their careers. Thanks to Co-Presidents, Jennica Ross, Emily Meyer, and Conference MC's, Jillian DelSignore, Jill Iacono Mavro, & Christine Berg for leading the event. Also, I must recognize the vision and hard work of my co-founders, Deborah Fuhr, CFA fellow, Michelle Mikos, Susan Thompson, Linda Zhang, PhD - Who knew what we were hatching as we planned for this organization in 2013/2014. !?! Women in ETFs will thrive and grow: Connecting, Supporting, and Inspiring women in the ETF industry -- keeping women at the center of ETFs success as they have been from the early days.

Honored to be a finalist for the InvestmentNews Trailblazer Women to Watch Award. 🎉. Huge congrats to my fellow nominees. 👏 As I think about the word #trailblazer, I decided to look it up in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. It means "pioneer" or "one who blazes a trail to guide others", which really resonated with me. In #WealthManagement, being a trailblazer isn't just about being the first to do something, it's also about leading the way for others, challenging norms, and carving new paths for the future. Here's to more firsts, more change, and more trailblazing. #Leadership #Innovation #LeadingChange #INW2W

Did you know that less than 2% of invested assets are managed by firms owned by women or people of color? I am grateful for the insightful discussion with Wednesday's panel on the impact of asset manager diversity! Thought leaders Anna Snider and Juan Martinez shared valuable insights on how to improve that statistic and how diverse perspectives fuel innovation and elevate decision-making in the financial realm. 🌐💼 Woodward Middleton Courtney Guzman #DiversityInFinance #AssetManagement #ThoughtLeadership

✨ Happy International Women’s Day! ✨ Today (and any other day for that matter) we are celebrating our incredible female founders, team, partners, investors and supporters. At Conduit Connect we are proud that 79% of our portfolio companies over the last 12 months have mixed founding teams, compared to just 12% of the industry benchmark (Diversity UK VC and Female Founders report, 2018) and 43% have been led by all-female teams, compared to the benchmark of just 4%. And we won’t stop here! Diversity and inclusion are deeply embedded in our business and we believe that fostering inclusive innovation is critical to us achieving our mission of democratising access to impact investing – both from an entrepreneur and investor perspective. #internationalwomensday #diversityinvc #femalefounders #womeninvc #iwd2024 #womenleadingchange

Two hundred years. Ten generations. That’s how long it will take to achieve parity among male and female fund managers in the UK if things continue at the current rate. At present only 12% of UK fund managers are women, something that desperately needs to change – and fast. It’s well established that diverse companies are more financially successful, and better meet their clients’ needs too. That’s why the not-for-profit Future Asset is doing such a crucial job in forging new pathways for young women in our schools and colleges in Scotland, challenging the image of financial services as an elitist sector peopled almost entirely by white, male, middle class investment managers. Great to support the work of Jen Mair, Helen Bradley and Jemma Mclean and the wider Future Asset team.
"I really wish a scheme like Future Asset had been around when I was growing up." Hear from our Chair, Jen Mair, Steering Group members Lauran Halpin and Dr Vanessa Collingridge, and our amazing alumna, Emilie Stewart. We had the privilege of catching up with these inspiring women during our Summer Celebration at Martin Currie. Jen, Lauren, Vanessa, and Emilie shared their unique perspectives on the transformative impact of Future Asset. They discussed how the programme is empowering young women, opening doors to careers in finance, and helping to build a more inclusive and diverse talent pipeline. Emilie Stewart's story and insights highlight the importance of initiatives like Future Asset in shaping the future for the next generation. Together, we continue to inspire and enable young women to achieve their full potential. Watch on YouTube : https://lnkd.in/eaDuyNBT #IAmAnAsset #BudgeUpDave #WomenInFinance #FutureAsset #Equality
