So well said April Pham ! We need to do much more to finance, support and protect the space and leadership for local women's rights and women-led organisations and feminist networks, both formal and informal and including those led by refugees and displaced communities and their work in crisis settings. This is key to ensuring a gender-transformative approach to humanitarian, nexus and peacebuilding programming as they know best how to navigate local gender norms and dynamics. Yet local women’s organisations continue to face multiple barriers to self-organising, influencing decision-making, forming and leading local networks and seeking and receiving funding for their work. Humanitarian funding streams and programming partnerships have yet to be reformed to enable feminist decolonial approaches and local leadership. #womanitarian #decolonialfeminist #localhumanitarianleadership
