October is Menopause month did you know. If you are a lady of a certain age then I imagine you may well know its Menopause month. But why am I telling you this? I like many have and still do at times struggle with symptoms. From hot flushes and trying to use a fan discreetly whilst on Zooms and Teams to looking at my ever growing rosy red hot face on screen sometimes. Brain fog has and is also a thing for me at times. Forgetting silly details or getting muddled for a few short seconds at a time. Plus double checking what I have or haven’t done at times too so I minimise muck ups. I pride myself on being a professional woman who has a great memory, is organised and who wants to offer a high level of knowledge and advice to my clients. And I can be hard on myself when I don’t live up to my self imposed standards. Menopause never used to be talked about and definitely not in a work or professional capacity but thankfully this has changed. There is lots of help out there so if you or someone you know is struggling with symptoms, do reach out and seek support and advice. #marketing #marketer #menopause

When my peri menopause symptoms started in 2018 at the age of 38, I knew hardly anything about the menopause. Since then I have researched through reading books, articles, using apps, listened to podcasts, been in Facebook groups with others going through menopause, watched videos, talks, as well as being trained by an expert. Let's not forget my own personal experience too, at the height of my symptoms, I could tick off approx. 26 symptoms!! 1 in 4 of us don't get any or hardly any symptoms at all but 1 in 4 of us have debilitating symptoms that have a huge effect on our day to day lives. In this workshop, I have put all my knowledge and experience into educating others on what the menopause is, how it can affect people and the options. *Please note - I will never advise individuals on what they need to do to alleviate their symptoms as I am not a doctor. This workshop is simply to bring awareness to the topic and provide a space for others to talk to each other about what they are experiencing. Want to join me next week? What causes us to try and control other people? In today’s episode of ‘Wisdom for menopause and beyond’, Alison & Anne talk about control. This discussion came about through some recent chats Anne had, where people she’d spoken to felt partly controlled by a partner, and another by their children. Alison and Anne talk through why we seek to control other people, how that desire to control actually comes from fear or anxiety, and how, as you get older, you learn to let go of that desire to control other people. “You can’t change somebody else; you can only change yourself.” – Alison “By controlling someone, you’re not giving them the opportunity to change their life and grow and potentially learn new things, so you’re limiting their life.” - Anne Find courses and resources to demystify menopause and help businesses support their staff through the transition here: https://lnkd.in/gy6-RPj If you enjoyed the content in this video, please do give us a like, subscribe, or leave a comment if you have a question! 🚺 In my latest video, I explain what makes a menopause specialist different and why you might want to seek the care of someone who is. In this day of do it yourself, where Dr Google tells you everything and then there are social media influencers and other people who may or may not be well-trained in how to balance hormones and what the implications are, it can be difficult to know the right answers. As a menopause specialist, I have seen everything under the sun and I've been doing this for many many years in addition to years of additional training that is not taught in medical school so I want to pass on to you why a menopause specialist might be necessary for you. #menopause #menopauseweightloss #menopauseexpert #MenopauseMatters #menopausehealth
