Stay tuned to listen to our very first live episode of #WorkwithPurpose!
🎧 Coming 2nd December.
Thanks to IPAA ACT, our panelists and of course, the audience for making it so special.
What a great experiment! Our first live podcast on Breaking the Stigma on Men's Mental Health was amazing. The energy in the room was so vibrant, so caring. The panel brought substance, powerful stories, lots of statistics and a reminder to see the people behind the numbers. But there were also a lot of laughs, joy and people connecting. Well done to the IPAA ACT and contentgroup team. Pemby, I reckon it was one of our best yet!

Great points about mental health and the use of technology... but maybe not in the way you'd expect. Do make time to listen to this podcast - there were loads of highlights for me:
- The stress put on those struggling with mental health in discussing their issues as part of mental health events or promotions, and how common those issues are: 1 in 4 people have a diagnosable mental health condition, over 70% of people are stressed to the extent that they sometimes feel unable to cope. ( Aren't you/we all doing a good job of masking 🙂 )
- There's great insights on how to handle this using technology, and some really informed points on where that technology provides a better solution than humans as it depersonalises the treatment. Also on how useful immersive environments can be here.
One particular point on that - Claire Barnett saying that VR experiences stayed with participants for over three years because "they'd lived it", which echoes my emphasis on gaming situations; there's something with humans that means being in control of an interactive story helps with retention and learning and so much more than being told about a technique, or reading about a technique or situation.
It's Mental Health Awareness week, and so what better time to talk with Claire Barnett about the work Your Haven are doing to increase access to better mental health?
The stigma around serious mental illness can be all-encompassing, limiting a person’s ability to form or keep relationships, work, and so much more. It can even stop them from seeking the care they need!
