The Symbolic Passing of the Gavel of Leadership
At the final Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Board meeting in 2024, the traditional "passing of the gavel" ceremony took place. The event symbolically transfers the board chair leadership from the current board chair to the incoming chair.
On Tuesday, Mark D. Weinstein, MSOL passed the gavel to Natalie Johnson, who will become the first chair to serve two years. The Chamber changed its bylaws in 2024 so the board chair will serve two consecutive years.
In the final address as chair, Weinstein highlighted the following successes from 2024 that the Chamber experienced:
* We l:aunched a new Xenia Chamber of Commerce website
* We implemented a new communication tool that brings efficiencies in how we communicate with chamber members and help manage of day-to-day finances. This tool is called CC-Assist.
* We enjoyed the most successful Annual Dinner event at the Greene County Fairgrounds in history.
* We enjoyed the most successful Golf outing, held for the second consecutive year at Jasper Hills Golf Course.
* We started the process for Chamber board development and established a new process for recruiting future board members.
* We modified the Chamber bylaws
* We finished the year in a financially strong position.
* We were more intentional about telling the Chamber success stories through various communication channels (traditional and social media).
In his closing comments, Weinstein charged the board with the following paraphrased quote from author Trey Smith: "If our presence doesn't make an impact, our absence won't make a difference."
In 2025, let's build on the momentum that we've built the past few years and make a notable impact for the Xenia Chamber of Commerce, our members, and the residents in the City of Xenia." 👇
