Christmas is around the corner and whilst this is a joyous time of year for many, December does bring it’s challenges, most significantly is the struggle to disconnect from work, with many employees struggling to manage workloads as the year draws to a close. Lesley Cooper's article for Workplace Wellbeing Professional, highlights the importance of the the proposed introduction of the ‘Right to Disconnect’ law. A similar model that was adopted in Ireland, Belgium and most recently Australia allows employees to separate from work and not be required to engage in work-related communication outside of their usual working hours. Research shows that currently 67% of UK employees feel unable to fully switch off from work or maintain personal boundaries.
