Fire Safety Protocols – Ensure equipment, exits, and training are up to date. 3️. Lone Worker Protection – Tools, training, and mental health checks for isolated employees. 4️. Employee Wellbeing – Provide clean, safe, and comfortable workspaces. 5️. Clear Communication – A documented policy, accessible to all, helps employees stay informed and safe. 📰👷♂️A recent article by OHS Canada highlights a critical issue in workplace safety – the lack of time allocated for training. The survey found that 70% of respondents believed that the biggest roadblock to workplace safety was the lack of time for training. Without proper training, workers may not be aware of potential hazards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols, leading to increased risks of accidents and injuries. The survey also found that 58% of respondents feel that health and safety programs are not enforced effectively in their workplaces. The article emphasizes the importance of investing in training and education to improve workplace safety. Employers must prioritize safety, allocate resources for training, enforce safety protocols, and provide ongoing support to create a culture of safety in the workplace. This is where we can be of assistance. Sooley's Safety Services can help your business implement effective health and safety preventative measures to ensure your business not only complies to rules and regulations, but runs smoothly and safely. Looking for ways to improve your workplace health & safety? I hope that the below graphic helps! Having a health and safety plan for your workers is something that should be considered with an independent health and safety advisor to ensure that you’re meeting The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. This requires employers to provide sufficient training, equipment, and the necessary information required to help keep employees and workers safe in the workplace. If you’re looking to ensure compliance with an independent health and safety consultant, I would love to help. Alternatively, if you know anyone who does need help with health and safety, please feel free to tag away!
