Onboarding - Are we rushing people into the business too soon? 🤔 I've been thinking about how companies sometimes throw new hires in at the deep end, and that new hires might also be eager to dive in and prove themselves. It's very common that new hires meet key stakeholders in the first week, and are immediately being asked to get involved with big-ticket items, but the risk is that the perceived “boring” stuff gets overlooked. I'm talking about learning multiple new systems, tools, processes, and policies. This all takes time! In my experience, if fundamental knowledge and habits aren't instilled at the beginning, the chances of long-term success are very slim. So are we rushing people into the business too soon?
