As of Q1 2024, Netflix original movies accounted for 25% of the platform’s total movie catalog in the US market, up from 20% in Q3 2022. However, only one Netflix original movie ranked among the 50 most in-demand films worldwide from January 1, 2020, to April 3, 2024. Despite the increased volume, the demand share for original Netflix movies in the US has declined in each of the last two quarters. In fact, the supply of original movies now exceeds demand, suggesting that investment should be reconsidered. Want to conduct your own demand and supply analysis?
