ReconAfrica expects to begin drilling the first Damara Fold Belt exploration well, called Naingopo (Prospect L), in June 2024. The Naingopo exploration well is targeting 163 million barrels of unrisked prospective oil resources or 843 billion cubic feet of unrisked prospective natural gas resources based on the most recent prospective resources report prepared by Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. dated March 12, 2024. 🚨 Jade Gas Holdings Limited (ASX: JGH) Gas Production Program on Track for 2025 🚨 Jade Gas Holdings Limited (ASX: JGH) is making significant progress with its gas production well program at the Red Lake gas field in Mongolia's South Gobi region. The drilling of the first two surface wells from a single pad has been successfully completed, laying the foundation for the completion of the lateral components in the coming weeks. This initiative is part of a four-well program designed to demonstrate commercial gas production and establish reserves. A crucial monitoring well has been drilled to 385 meters and intersected 10.8 meters of gassy coal, slightly above expectations. Preliminary gas content is estimated at 14 m³/t, aligning closely with previous findings. Jade’s drilling contractor, DWK, is using Mongolia's largest rig, supporting the company’s ambitious 20-well program set for 2025. Operator of the Rafael Shallow Joint Venture Buru Energy Ltd is moving ever closer to achieving its drilling objectives at the Rafael Shallow 1 exploration well in Western Australia’s Canning Basin. The company reported that the 12-1/4-inch hole reached the planned total depth of 712 metres measured depth (mRT) on October 15. Drilling operations have since progressed at a cracking pace, with the rig running the 9-5/8-inch casing to a depth of 220 metres as at 08:00 on October 16. Looking ahead, Buru Energy will proceed with the installation of the wellhead and blow out preventers (BOPs) before drilling the next section of the well. The next phase involves drilling an 8-1/2-inch hole through the target reservoirs, a key step in determining the well's potential. *** Galp announces additional oil and gas find in Namibia *** • The PEL 83 Joint Venture partners have revealed an additional oil and gas condensate discovery in the Mopane field in Namibia’s Orange Basin • The Mopane field is estimated to hold more than ten billion barrels of oil • Also known as Well #4, the Mopane-2A well was spud [drilling operations commenced there] on 2 December 2024 and has encountered hydrocarbons in two separate reservoirs • The well is part of Petroleum Exploration License 83 (PEL 83) which covers blocks 2813A and 2814B and is operated by a subsidiary of Portugal’s Galp Energia • The drilling operations at Mopane-2A revealed a gas-condensate column in the AVO-3 reservoir and a light oil column in the AVO-4 reservoir, as part of the second campaign on blocks 2813A and 2814B #hydrocarbons #oil #gas #upstream

Oil and gas companies have boosted offshore drilling in recent months, finding large resources in the newest exploration hotspots and aiming to develop huge low-cost, low-emission oil and gas fields that will yield decades of high returns.

The majors are investing more in deepwater exploration as they are doubling down on their pledge to continue delivering oil and gas to meet global demand. The high offshore drilling activity is already showing in the rising profits and backlogs of the world's top oilfield services providers and rig charterers. Namibia is topping the list with new discoveries adding to its existing proven reserves. The successes of Total, Shell and Galp are encouraging large oil companies to direct more investments into exploration.

Brookside Energy Limited (ASX:BRK, OTC:RDFEF) has cased and cemented the casing in place at the Fleury Well in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin and is now drilling ahead in the lateral section at a measured depth of ~12,975 feet. Fleury is part of the company’s multi-well Flames-Maroons Development Plan (FMDP) in the SCOOP Play which is targeting the highly productive Sycamore Lime and Woodford Shale formations in the basin’s south. All operations are continuing safely, on budget and on time and after drilling out the casing, the drilling of the curve commenced with the curve landed successfully. The curve section, which is between the kick-off point in the vertical part of the well and the landing point in the lateral or horizontal part of the well, requires careful directional drilling in order to land the curve at the correct depth in the target formation. EMPIRE ENERGY LTD (ASX:EEG, OTC:EEGUF) has kicked off drilling operations for the Carpentaria-5H, or C-5H, well within its 100%-owned permit in the Beetaloo Basin, Northern Territory, Australia. The C-5H well is on the same well pad as Carpentaria-2H and 3H, and is Empire’s most advanced horizontal shale drilling effort to date. It is part of Empire's broader Carpentaria Pilot Project and is designed to achieve higher gas production rates than the previous wells. Mosman says Vecta drilling will be in 2025 @mosmanoilandgas #AIM #MSMN. Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd (AIM:MSMN) said plans to start drilling at the Vecta helium project in Colorado, USA (20% WI) by the end of 2024 will not now happen. Having been advised that drilling would commence in 2024, the project operator has not yet secured a rig. A rig to drill these five wells is being sought and therefore the operator is not able to provide a definite schedule for drilling.
