The USA 🇺🇸 House of Representatives on Friday approved its version of the annual defense policy bill, effectively clearing the $883.7 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to move forward in a 217-199 vote which largely fell along party lines. Only three Republicans opposed it. A number of 'controversial' amendments are part of it, setting up a further fight with Democrats as it moves forward, including a measure empowering the National Guard to crack down on the southern border. But among the most interesting aspects to the bill for Fiscal Year 2025 is an amendment to the NDAA which automatically registers all draft-age male U.S. residents with the Selective Service System. This means that all able-bodied males in the country age 18-26 could potentially be drafted in the scenario of a future war declaration by Congress. The selection would be based on information from Federal databases. While there has been a Selective Service program in effect for decades, it has long previously only been voluntary, but this new amendment will make registration automatic. The merely 'voluntary' system had been in effect since 1980 - but critics have said that leaving it up for young men to decide for themselves whether to register has resulted in a weak and ineffective system with not enough numbers. #usa #defence #service #army #navy #airforce #Nationalservice #watchthisspace https://lnkd.in/gb3d53WJ

"The last time the United States formally declared war, using specific terminology, on any nation was in 1942, when war was declared against Axis-allied Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania, because President Franklin Roosevelt thought it was improper to engage in hostilities against a country without a formal declaration of war. Since then, every American president has used military force without a declaration of war." Now the USA has evolved this strategy to War by Proxy. You use NATO to start #WWIII by getting them to do something stupid, to invite the inevitable reaction, so you can invoke Article 5. The rest of the world needs to reign in Rogue State Numero Uno. That state is the USA. Russia is a dog, but not one you cannot make a treaty with. Cold War I proved that to the be case. However, this is not enough for the White House of today. They want to end it all for an undergraduate view of geopolitics. "The existential struggle between autocracy and democracy." Bullshit. Nation states have a right to exist regardless of their system of governance. That is why it is called the "United Nations". Not the "United Club of Wokeshit Warmongers" The key existential struggle in play today is which US prime can put its foot on sufficient rocket motor manufacturing capacity to win the missile contract. Tulsi Gabbard, president-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to be the director of national intelligence, has raised alarms among national security officials. Ms. Gabbard’s comments have earned her sharp rebukes from officials across the political spectrum in Washington, who have accused her of parroting the anti-American propaganda of the country’s adversaries. Her remarks have also made her a darling of the Kremlin’s vast state media apparatus — and, more recently, of President-elect Donald J. Trump, who last week picked her to oversee the nation’s 18 intelligence agencies and departments. Her selection to be the director of national intelligence has raised alarms among national security officials, not only because of her lack of experience in intelligence but also because she has embraced a worldview that mirrors disinformation straight out of the Kremlin’s playbook. No evidence has emerged that she has ever collaborated in any way with Russia’s intelligence agencies.
