There is a critical gap in soft skills among entry-level employees in the hospitality industry. As per the Demand & Skill Gap Study, March 2024, by Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council, employers cite deficiencies in essential soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork among entry-level employees. This gap is compounded by limited emphasis on soft skills in current training programs. The Job Plus is addressing this challenge head-on equipping youth having bare minimum education with the confidence and soft skills needed to excel. Our approach includes multiple, meaningful interactions with beneficiaries, along with exposure to real-world employer expectations, ensuring they develop these essential skills. By bridging this gap, we are not only empowering youth but also enhancing their employability and retention in the present-day industry. We invite #employers and stakeholders in the #hospitality, #retail, and #managedworkspace sectors to explore partnership opportunities with us - https://lnkd.in/dhY3eUzX #TheJobPlus #THSC #GapsToGrowth #SoftSkills #SkillsGap #CuratingOpportunities #ImpactingLives #Skilling #youthskilling #skilldevelopment #HospitalityIndustry Natwar Nagar

“Why did you leave your last company?” FangKai Low 卢方凯 interviewed a candidate last week for VHR and asked this question. This was the response: “The company didn’t provide any learning opportunity. I feel that I’m not growing there.” This is a WRONG way to answer this question. As we always say, don’t talk bad about your last company. Instead of giving “away from” answers, talk about what you’re leaning towards. For example, you can say “I am looking for a workplace with more opportunities to learn and challenge myself, and I believe that this is a great place to do so.” This candidate didn’t leave a good impression, and she unfortunately didn’t make it to the next round. For candidates, this is a reminder to keep your answers focused on what you want to move towards, instead of what you want to be away from. And for employers, this is a reminder to not overlook the growth and learning of your team. As a recruiter, we’ve seen a consistent pattern of talents leaving due to lack of opportunities for growth, and it’s definitely something employers should not overlook. Cheers! www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow
