We innovate. As a leader in pressure cylinder manufacturing, we committed to developing a steel cylinder with the lowest carbon footprint without reliance on carbon offsets. Our research and development process included testing and validating XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel from ArcelorMittal Europe. We are pleased to share that the first prototypes have been successfully manufactured and industrial trials are currently underway. Tiago Oliveira, vice president of product development, Worthington Enterprises, Building Products, said, “We worked closely with ArcelorMittal to create a steel that has a 73 percent lower carbon footprint allowing us to produce more sustainable cylinders when compared to traditional steel cylinders and are fully compliant with regulatory standards. We’re pleased to be leading the industry by making this new product available to customers that are interested in lowering their environmental impact.
