New FSISD Field House will Provide Much Needed Upgrades to Existing Facilities Public school athletic programs and the sports within them are perhaps the largest and most influential of all of the extracurriculars in Texas. For high schools, an athletics program can be synonymous with a school's very identity. So, keeping pace with other programs and schools' facilities has become almost as competitive as the games student-athletes play in each week. Further, when so many students are involved in an athletics program, the buildings and facilities they train, practice, and play in become a high priority, indeed. Recently, I sat down with Coach Hickman to discuss the new field house, which is scheduled to be completed in August of this year. He let me know that this project, from the 2022 bond, will bring some much needed upgrades: East End: New female track and cross country locker rooms and bathrooms New girls coaches' offices Extra space for Prowler off-season strength and conditioning Central: New trainer and student-trainer locker rooms Bigger training/rehabilitation room which will benefit all Prowler and Panther athletes West End: New JV and varsity football locker rooms New coaches' offices Renovation of Existing Facilities: Media room, new freshman football locker rooms, much needed storage space, and a new visitor's locker room (so rival teams don't have to trek across fields and past fans) Coach Hickman said, "We are excited about our new facility. The new field house provides our kids a much needed upgraded facility with new locker rooms for our female athletes, trainers, student-trainers, and football athletes. This new facility is a welcomed resource from the community supporting our athletes and their development. This commitment will help us to continue to build all programs towards new levels of success." FSISD Superintendent, Dr. Zamora added, "The field house project was a desperately needed upgrade. It is another of the many bond promises kept, all while maintaining the commitment to keep our tax rate low."

✅ Creating Spaces that Shape Future Athletes: A Case Study on St Columban's High School. ✅ At AlphaFit, our approach to designing gym spaces is rooted in understanding the unique needs of our clients. Recently, we had the privilege of working with St Columban's High School to create a dedicated strength and conditioning facility that meets the needs of their students and athletes. ✅ From the outset, our goal was to ensure the space was functional, safe, and inspiring. We began with a comprehensive consultation, listening to the school's vision and understanding the physical constraints of the space. This collaborative approach allowed us to design a gym that not only fits within the existing environment but also enhances the overall training experience. ✅ Equipment Selection: Selecting the right equipment was critical. We focused on pieces that would support a wide range of training modalities, catering to both novice and advanced users. Our team chose equipment that promotes strength development, versatility, and longevity—key factors for a school environment where safety and durability are paramount. ✅ Integration into the Space: The next step was ensuring the seamless integration of the equipment. We paid close attention to the layout, ensuring there was ample space for movement and that the flow of the gym would facilitate easy transitions between exercises. Each piece of equipment was carefully positioned to maximize efficiency and encourage a variety of training routines. ✅ This project exemplifies our commitment to creating environments that support athletic development at all levels. By working closely with the team at St Columban's High School, we were able to deliver a space that will serve their students for years to come. #StrengthAndConditioning #SchoolFitout #GymDesign #AustralianMade #AlphaFit #AthleteDevelopment #Consultation #FunctionalTraining
