Good tips to help garner media (TV, in particular) coverage for your event or milestone. Note that the more polished and complete the video package, the better. I would like to add: When using a phone to shoot video, turn it on its side (horizontal orientation). TV screens and monitors are horizontally oriented. When you shoot in a vertical orientation, the TV station has to fill the borders of the screen with some imagery. It results in a cramped view of the footage. Media Relations Tip of the Day – there are many different variables to consider when drafting a pitch. For example, last week I was reminded about the importance of including a "Run of Show" when pitching a press conference/event to the media. Two TV stations reached out to confirm when the statue unveiling was taking place as one station was going to be late while another station needed to leave early. Understand you can’t always include the RoS in the pitch, but make sure to provide a general timeline to the media. #mediaoutreach #mediarelations #PRtips

The type of media coverage your care home chooses will determine how often you get positive press coverage and PR. 📰 Newspapers 📻 Radio 📺 Television Developing good relationships with broadcasters can make a difference in how often care homes get coverage. Consider who to pitch your stories to…if you encompass all these media outlets it will ⬆️ increase ⬆️ the amount of coverage you get per year.
