Yesterday, our Managing Director, Muhammad Nagi, took the stage at Cairo ICT to discuss the crucial role of science and technology parks in driving national economic growth. He highlighted how the workspaces industry is empowering Egypt’s youth and entrepreneurs, and in turn the economy, by providing the necessary infrastructure, resources, and community to innovate and thrive. He also reflected on the journey of The GrEEK Campus so far and how, by offering flexible workspaces, networking opportunities, and specialized support services, we are contributing to the development of a thriving tech ecosystem in Egypt.

As the Vice President for Marketing and Partnerships at TIZETI, I witness firsthand the transformative power of internet connectivity in driving economic growth and societal progress. In today's rapidly evolving digital economy, access to fast and reliable internet is no longer a luxury; it's a necessity. It opens doors to new job opportunities, empowers businesses to thrive, and enables communities to connect and collaborate like never before. However, despite the immense potential, more than 60% of Africans still lack access to the internet, with connectivity unevenly distributed across the continent. Many rural areas remain out of reach of traditional cellular networks, leaving millions of people disconnected. Where connectivity is available, it is very expensive. The good news is that Africa is not lacking in infrastructure, or the energy to deploy. With submarine cables landing in 37 out of 38 coastal African countries, and 1.1m kilometers of fiber cables, there is significant capacity for high-speed connectivity. West Africa currently enjoys 500+ TBPS from Meta's 2Africa, Google's Equaino, MainOne, MTN's WACS and others. However, the challenge lies in bridging the last-mile gap to deliver internet access to homes and businesses. We've seen a surge in partnerships aimed at addressing the last-mile connectivity challenge. From collaborations between telecom giants and satellite companies e.g Orange and Eutelsat OneWeb, MTN, with Eutelsat Group and SpaceX and TIZETI with Eutelsat Group @Konnect, operators see greater value in convergence and collaboration, than competition. At TIZETI, we're committed to driving connectivity across Africa, particularly in rural areas where the digital divide is most pronounced. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders like MainOne, Eutelsat Group, Microsoft, Meta, and Cambium Networks, we're vertically integrated and deploy robust solutions to bring high-speed internet to underserved communities in West Africa and beyond. If you're passionate about connecting Africa's unconnected and focus on digital connectivity, women’s economic empowerment, education, broadband affordability and accessibility, and digital literacy, and you require a partner who can deploy quickly and efficiently, please reach out to me. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in narrowing the digital divide and unlocking the full potential of the African continent. #ITW #InternationalTelecomsWeek #WestAfrica #Convergence #Broadband #Tizeti #Africa
