https://lnkd.in/dESTKPZX SFA Packaging's collaboration with JOZO to redesign the iconic salt shaker has garnered significant attention from the influential US trade magazine PACKWORLD. The new JOZO salt shaker, made entirely from 100% recyclable polypropylene with an innovative in-mould label, exemplifies SFA's ability to marry functionality, sustainability, quality, and aesthetics. Key to this breakthrough is the NextCycle technology, developed with MCC Verstraete, allowing the label to detach during recycling for a purer PP recyclate. This addresses significant recycling challenges and advances the circular economy. #Webpackaging #PackagingInnovation #SustainablePackaging #FoodPackaging

https://lnkd.in/evtMQe5i SFA Packaging faced the challenge of improving the sustainability JOZO's salt shakers, through a pioneering example of circular PP packaging. By transitioning from multicomponent construction to mono-material PP packaging decorated with IML labels, JOZO achieved full recyclability while maintaining shelf appeal. RecyClass B-score certification confirmed the packaging's circularity, marking a significant improvement from its previous partially recyclable state. Continuously striving for sustainability, SFA Packaging further enhanced their packaging with NextCycle IML™ technology. These labels facilitate the separation of the label from the container during recycling, ensuring high-quality recycled material for future use. #Webpackaging #PackagingInnovation #SustainablePackaging #RecyclablePackaging #IML

Oatburst Instant Porridge has been repackaged into a revolutionary self-separating cardboard-plastic cup. Symington’s has changed their porridge containers to Greiner’s K3 packaging, which incorporates a tear feature, allowing the consumer to easily separate the cardboard and plastic. This allows for an easier recycling process, ensuring materials are sorted before disposal. This innovation has revolutionised the industry because, in addition to the tear feature, the materials naturally separate without the need for human contact. This has enabled a higher recycling rate due to the separation of materials happening independently before entering the recycling process. With the product being designed for consumers on-the-go, this innovative feature ensures that, however the product is disposed of, it will enter the recycling process correctly. Packaging is a theme at this time of year… So let's talk about the BOTTLE4FLEX project. It's a research project coordinated by AIMPLAS · Technological Institute of Plastics and it's working on developing 100% #recyclable food packaging. Food #packaging has particularly stringent criteria and it's very difficult to use recycled material in it. This project focuses on a 'skinpack': clear packaging which clings closely to the product, so that consumers can actually see what they are thinking of buying while producers and distributers get the benefit of cost-effectiveness and flexibility. Great – but skinpacks tend to be made up of multiple layers and so are seriously tricky to recycle. BOTTLE4FLEX is developing a single-material film based on #rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate). Solvolysis processes will be used for recycling, and the properties of PET will be amended through partial depolymerization. See our webpage for more details: bit.ly/49xEivw

In today's environmentally conscious market, #packaging recyclability has become a critical differentiator for brands. Consumers are increasingly prioritizing sustainable packaging, making #recyclability a key factor in purchasing decisions. To support our customers' needs, #TaghleefIndustries has proposed a fully PP-based solution using TTH, a heat-resistant PET replacement, and ZVS, a metallized film with excellent barrier properties for applications such as biscuits or snacks. Traditional multi-material packaging structures are #environmental nightmares and are complex to recycle, but Taghleef provides brands with alternatives that don't compromise on performance. By switching to Ti's range of innovative films, you can reduce your packaging's environmental footprint, meet growing consumer demand for #sustainable solutions, and maintain the high-quality protection your products need. Our Jarbot™ Reusable Packaging System has been named the winner in the Overall Packaging System Category at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) Innovator Awards for 2024. Breakthroughs across industry start at the design phase and proof of concept! Congrats Chris Bradley and Orora Sustainability team and thank you SPC for promoting a reusable future and breaking down industry barriers to streamline reusable packaging across market segments, optimizing reverse supply chain logistics while maintaining a brands Image. Glad to be a part of Orora's thought leadership in sustainable and re-usable packaging! Can't wait to see where Jarbot takes us! We designed Jarbot to solve a fundamental problem faced by consumer-packaged goods (CPG) brands and retailers – scaling their reusable packaging initiatives. For CPG packaging to achieve scale, we need to drive down the costs of collection, cleaning and refilling to levels that are close to the cost of single use packaging. Jarbot, our reuse-optimized packaging system that can be shared by a multitude of brands to store a wide range of products, is a major step in the right direction. If you’re interested in learning more about Jarbot, you can read about it here. https://lnkd.in/g2RXH7VP
