🔐 Remote Control of Safety Devices via the Internet: TRUMPF and Partners Set New Standards In the cooperative research project PoQsiKom (Post-Quanten-sichere Kommunikation für Industrie 4.0), TRUMPF, Fraunhofer AISEC, Siemens and the Technische Universität München worked together to develop an innovative safety device for machine tools. The goal was to control security devices remotely via the Internet while ensuring the highest security standards. 👩💻 🏭 In this context, TRUMPF has developed a new concept for the release of safety devices via the Internet. This concept is based on a special trust anchor that ensures secure communication between the partners involved. The developed demonstrator will be presented at the HANNOVER MESSE. Here, visitors can experience first-hand how the remote control of safety devices works in practice and what added value it offers. Balluff’s Christian Seyfried, Condition Monitoring Sensor (BCM) Product Manager, presents a virtual event overview of Condition Monitoring and the latest Balluff sensor which can be used to gather machine condition data. How do you stand out in a sea full of competition? This is a question I ask whenever I walk into any expo/tradeshow event. At Automate Show 2024 - still ongoing - I believe Cognex Corporation nailed it. Their booth was full of vision system technologies displayed in an interactive and memorable way. 2 set ups in particular: ⚡ With a scan of your badge using a Cognex handheld barcode scanner. Your name would appear within a laser etching software. They'd take a blank pen and place it within the laser etching machine. When the process was completed, they'd then place a pen under one of their cameras where it effortlessly read the characters. 🏀 With 30s on the clock, you had to shoot as many foam boxes as possible into a cardboard hoop. On every box there was a small QR code. With a Cognex camera positioned high above. Every code was read, every time, regardless of how you "shot" the box. If you're not familiar with barcode scanning, this is wildly impressive. Not to mention, each day the highest scorer would win the prize on display. What's your favorite booth you've ever seen?
