NitroVolt Secures Funding To Further Scale Its Technology Danish startup NitroVolt has announced a significant pre-seed investment of €750,000 from Swedish venture capital firm BackingMinds. This investment aims to support the development and scaling of NitroVolt’s “Nitrolyzer” unit, a groundbreaking technology designed to produce ammonia in a more environmentally friendly manner. Suzanne Zamany Andersen, CEO & Co-founder of NitroVolt, emphasized the transformative potential of their technology: “Our technology makes it possible to produce ammonia locally and puts the end user in control of the production. This means that the production becomes resilient to supply chain volatility and green simultaneously – something that doesn’t exist on the market today.” Mattia Saccoccio, CTO & Co-founder, shared their ambitious goals for scaling the technology: “With the new funding, we’re moving out of the university and hiring the competencies we need to scale our technology. During 2024, we expect to increase our green ammonia output production by a factor of 1,000!” Read more here -> https://lnkd.in/gfX3By5v #igrownews #nitrovolt

Air Liquide chose Distran Ultrasound cameras to protect their hydrogen refueling stations and their filling centers: With a single detector, a large area can be monitored for leaks. If a leak occurs, the detection is extremely fast, as the gas do not need to come in contact with the detector, but only the sound of the leak (which means within milliseconds). The essence of Distran technology is to pick the right sound even in noisy environment, and trigger an alert. Hydrogen allows to store an energy, that can be produced by low carbon energy sources. Yet, it is a highly flammable molecule, thus dangerous. PS: infrared based technology do not work with hydrogen.
Safety is a top priority for Air Liquide, and while we strive to improve safety in all our operations, we also look for new technologies in wider ecosystems. That's why we are working with innovative #startups! For instance, through ALIAD Venture Capital by Air Liquide, we collaborate with the startup Distran, focused on boosting safety standards in #hydrogen mobility. This partnership has been particularly fruitful: ✅ DISTRAN develops cutting-edge ultrasonic imaging cameras, allowing more effective monitoring and detection of potential gas leaks. In 2023, ALIAD took a minority participation in this start-up to support the company’s growth. ✅ In 2023, the start-up developed a new version of its "SonicView Pro" technology, specifically adapted to Air Liquide's needs, in close collaboration with experts from the Group. ✅ After having successfully demonstrated their performance and reliability, these #cameras can now be used in heavy-duty hydrogen refueling stations and filling centers designed by Air Liquide advanced Technologies. By supporting innovative start-ups, we create a win-win relationship with technological, strategic and financial opportunities for both start-ups and Air Liquide! 🎯

#U.A.E. and #Oman-based climate tech startup 44.01 has secured $37 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Equinor Ventures and Shorooq Partners. Founded in 2020 by Karan Khimji, Talal Hasan, and Ehab Tasfai, 44.01 eliminates carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by converting it into rock through a process known as CO2 mineralization. #CO2_mineralization is the process by which carbon dioxide (CO2) becomes a solid mineral. It is a chemical reaction that happens when certain rocks are exposed to carbon dioxide. The new funding will be used to refine the technology, develop commercial-scale projects, and expand international deployment.
