Our Project Manager Samuel Pierce is currently in Copenhagen, meeting about the current status of the MegaBITS_EU project and the next steps towards implementing the flagship pilot projects. 🌍 MegaBITS, is an Interreg North Sea Region project implementing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technologies for cycling in five flagship pilot projects across seven regions. This initiative will ensure that all Olympic venues are accessible by bike, promoting a greener and healthier approach to this global event. In addition to the lanes, Vélib' Métropole, Paris bike share system operated by our partner Smovengo, will play a key role by introducing an extra 3,000 bikes. ⚽️ The past busy few weeks of sport have come to an end. It's now time to get my training back into some kind of a routine. 🎾 🗓️ We’ve just passed the middle of the year and I felt like a new challenge would help me to grow and (maybe) have some fun! I’ve decided to sign up to HYROX Madrid with a mate of mine in October this year. 🏃🏽♂️ If you haven’t heard of HYROX before just know there is a lot of running and other gruelling exercises involved. I may have placed myself out of depth here but it’s time to start getting ready for the challenge ahead! What I have learnt over the years is that in order to prepare yourself for an event like this I’m going to need to; 🏋🏻♀️ Focus on a clear structure for training (and sleeping) 🥅 Have short term goals to hit and achieve along the way 🛌 Stick to my routine and allow myself enough rest and recovery when I do need it   👨🏼💻 Most of these pointers can fall into place during anything in life really and help you to get things done more effectively and efficiently. Especially number two. NEW ARTICLE ALERT This article was a wonderful opportunity to work side by side with the amazing AUTH team. I enjoyed every moment of this interaction. Prof. Socrates Basbas was the grand orchestrator, Dr Georgios Georgiadis Ph.D. was the one bringing everything together and Dr Ioannis Politis our structural equation modelling star. Alexandros Oikonomou's original Thesis was our baseline. We tell a complicated story about cycling, aggressive and non-aggressive driving and environment-friendly behaviour for the context of Thessaloniki, Greece. We use structural equation modelling to understand how these issues are linked together and how we can predict cycling and non-aggressive driving uptake. We found that: - No prejudice against cyclists favours cycling and non-aggressive driving. - Safety, equality, and respect for diversity are values that favour the adoption of cycling. - Drivers with previous traffic violations often display more aggressive driving behaviour.
