We're excited to be working with XSun Australia to test the capability of its long-range solar electric autonomous drone. The two-day trial in December will include photogrammetry-style surveys of coral reefs off Innisfail in north Queensland using a high-resolution camera that can survey a whole reef in about an hour. It will also be detecting marine mammals such as whales and dugongs. This is part of our quest to investigate new technologies to increase Australian Institute of Marine Science's capabilities.
