Sometimes when working in technology it is easy to get lost in the details of your daily routines. Nightly tests that fail, kernels that need to be fixed or rewritten, new specs that need to be reviewed by as many eyes as possible... Every now and then you need to step back and see what the journey has been like and where are you going. Today is one of those days, and the balance I make is actually positive. I have come to realize that I am very proud of what my coworkers at Esperanto and me have built over the last six years (10 years for the luckiest of you that arrived even earlier than me). In perspective, it has been a journey of green lines (waves) and software that ends up with a device that runs a language model at a usable speed using less than 30 watts.
