Bridge strikes pose significant risks to safety, infrastructure, and traffic flow, making it essential for transport offices to take proactive measures. Effective route planning, diligent attention to signage, and ensuring continuous driver training are all critical steps that should be managed at the operational level. We encourage transport offices to leverage technology, facilitate regular training sessions, and ensure their teams remain vigilant in route planning and hazard awareness. By fostering a culture of safety and informed decision-making, transport offices can significantly reduce the risks of bridge strikes. #BridgeStrikeAwareness #TransportSafety #DriverTraining

This Road Safety Week, we emphasise the importance of vigilance, especially at railway crossings and infrastructure that intersects with our roads. Each year, countless accidents occur due to a lack of awareness at these critical points. Stay Alert: Always be vigilant when approaching crossings, whether you’re driving or walking. Remember to look both ways and listen for oncoming vehicles or trains. Your safety—and the safety of others—depends on your awareness and actions. At McGinley, we recognise the significance of safe infrastructure and encourage everyone to take personal responsibility for their safety. Let’s work together to promote safe practices and protect our communities. Stay safe, stay alert, and let’s make our roads safer for everyone. 🔧 What’s the real cost of skipping maintenance? A recent incident at Birmingham Airport highlights just that. During rollout at Leeds Bradford, a plane’s bearing likely failed, leading to operational delays and raising safety concerns. This serves as a powerful reminder: proactive maintenance isn’t just a box to tick—it’s essential for preventing costly breakdowns and ensuring safety. When even small components are overlooked, the risks increase. Let’s make on-time maintenance a priority to keep operations running smoothly and passengers safe. https://lnkd.in/eesUK5rt #MaintenanceMatters #AviationSafety #PreventiveMaintenance

It's #ST3Week - formerly Rail Safety Week. It's a concentrated effort to focus attention to the importance of making safe choices when driving or walking near railroad tracks & trains. Here are a few reminders for safety at train stations & platforms from Operation Lifesaver, Inc.: -Always walk, never run. -Stay behind the painted line or raised marking until the train comes to a complete stop. -If you drop an item on the track, never attempt to retrieve it. Safe decision making - along with proper safety precautions (such as Safeguard Anti-Slip covers on surrounding steps and walkways) ensure accidents don't occur on or around the platform. #TrainSafety #SeeTracksThinkTrain #AntiSlip
