Counting the days, and it is December 19. 🎄 Gentle nudge – I would call the innovation and solution presented today. I find it rare to encounter such a beautiful and gentle-looking solution to an ugly problem - that of floating plastic waste, with bubbles addressing the issue. What I find particularly wonderful about this solution is its nature-harmonious approach to the environment. Today, it is the story of the The Great Bubble Barrier®. “The Great Bubble Barrier is an innovative social enterprise on a mission to combat #plasticpollution in rivers and canals before it reaches the oceans. Their ingenious solution, #theBubbleBarrier, uses a curtain of bubbles to capture plastic waste across the full width and depth of a waterway. The technology works by pumping air through a perforated tube placed diagonally on the riverbed, creating a bubble curtain that directs plastic to the surface. The natural flow of water then pushes the waste to the side, where it's collected in a catchment system. This method is not only effective but also #environmentallyfriendly, as it doesn't hinder fish migration or boat traffic. The Bubble Barrier has proven to be remarkably efficient, catching on average 86% of plastic waste.
