More lessons I'd love people to take away from this is to: 1) Make it clear to people what you're up to, and people will put opportunities in your vision. Jeremy Hasbrouck and Deanna Hasbrouck started a non-profit Career Center because they wanted to nurture the talents of today and tomorrow. It's because of this common mission that we got to talking about Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) a few years ago at a cornhole tournament, of all places. 2) Plant the seeds. Jeremy and Deanna were already doing a lot for the community. It didn't seem like there was room for one more thing, yet I knew they'd be big fans of what YEA does, so I took time to fill them in on some of the amazing CEOs and companies the YEA program helped develop, many of which have philanthropic and social impact components, so it's exponential goodness. 3) Adversity creates opportunity. Normally I would have been preparing the YEA students for their trade show myself, but I had to be with my family during several concurrent crises. Even though it was Jeremy's busy pool season, I knew his advice on trade show presentation would be even more valuable than my own and he'd get them excited and well-prepared to present their businesses to the public. I am so thrilled that Jeremy will get the opportunity to invest in these amazing students and their impressive companies. I'm even more thrilled to get back this year to teaching them how to use the investments to start operating and growing their companies. #jobcreation #futurejobcreators #selfsufficient #youngentrepreneurs #YEA #YeaPhilly #investors #letsgo

Underrepresented entrepreneurs in Scotland do NOT need 👎More (GENERIC) advice 👎More (UNDEFINED) mentoring 👎More (ONE SIZE FITS ALL) accelerators Underrepresented entrepreneurs do need 👇 👍 CASH 👍 Intros to people with cash and who will give them the cash 👍 More customers buying their products The ACCESS report covers the points raised. Different under represented groups face different barriers that don’t fit in one box, it’s important that the ecosystem recognises this and creates a landscape that supports groups to thrive equitably https://lnkd.in/eXx6ngTu
