5 Premier League Statistical insights: 1. Aston Villa scoring as many goals at home as both Liverpool and Arsenal. 2. Manchester United has the best match attendance but still fail to please fans (I'm a gutted united fan ☹). 3. Whereas, our rivals, Manchester City who have scored the least goals at home from the top 5 teams but will more than certainly win the league. 4. After analysing away goals. I believe the title will be decided on away goals (for and against). I might be one of many United fans rooting for Arsenal to win the league, but Manchester City’s away goal stats might be the reason they clinch the title at Upton Park. 5. Finally, massive credit for teams like Newcastle and Aston Villa who both have lower match attendances than other teams, but still finished respectively high in the table (Higher than United). #footballanalysis #statisticalanalysis #dataanalyst

The intense match held last Sunday at Old Trafford saw a fierce battle for control of the midfield. Manchester United's adjustments to their build-up plan to counter Chelsea's relentless man-marking were impressive, but data indicates that Chelsea won the midfield battle. Among the players on the ground, Chelsea players dominated the top five spots for touch percentages in the middle third area, and they also claimed the top three spots for total touches. However, Manchester United recorded a higher xG of 2.0 compared to Chelsea's 1.1, suggesting that despite losing control of the center, they created more quality chances closer to goal. While Manchester United struggled to control the central areas, they created many good opportunities through direct play. Chelsea, on the other hand, may not have created as many scoring chances but achieved higher possession and other stats, leveraging their dominance in the middle. In anticipation for the upcoming Premier League clash between Manchester City and Arsenal, we have had a look at some of the history behind these two clubs in the English First Division 📊 Up until the 2010s, Arsenal dominated - both in terms of league position and titles. Since then, City’s success has been unparalleled 🏆🏆🏆 Despite not being traditional rivals, this fixture has become one of the most interesting in the Premier League calendar. In the last two seasons, Arsenal have been City’s closest challengers for the title. From a head-to-head perspective, City's manager Pep Guardiola has undoubtedly dominated the fixture against his former apprentice, Mikel Arteta - now the manager of Arsenal. It must be said that Arsenal’s progress since Arteta joined has been remarkable, as the past two seasons has shown Arsenal and City to be head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. Will this season serve up the same rivalry? 🤔 #ReallyAwesomeDataPeople #DataConsulting #ExpectMore #StepAhead

Chelsea is the only Premier League club to have spent over 1 billion euros since Todd Boehly took charge 💸. Despite this significant investment and two full seasons having passed, Chelsea still hasn't managed to secure a top spot finish 🏆. Samu Omorodion’s rumored transfer to Chelsea for 35 million pounds could push their already high spending even higher. Will this additional investment finally lead to results in the 2024/2025 season? 🤔 Here are some additional insights on the top Premier League spenders since the 2022/2023 season 📊: - Manchester United is the closest spender to Chelsea, having invested 535.82 million euros—still about 700 million euros less than Chelsea's total 💰. - Out of the big six clubs, five are among the top six spenders 💼, with the exception of Liverpool, which ranks 10th in spending with only 309.80 million euros. This amount is lower than several non-big six teams, including Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, and West Ham 📉. Overall, this data highlights that big spending does not always guarantee big results 🚫📈. #Chelsea #PremierLeague #FootballAnalytics #DataViz #DataVisualization

Its that time of year when the so-called giants of English football come up against the lower league teams in the FA Cup and over the years there have been some great triumphs for the underdogs....famously...... ⚽ Sunderland beating Leeds Utd at their peak in 1973 (Kevin Rogers) ⚽ Coventry beating Tottenham in 1987 (Tom Warrender) ⚽ Sutton Utd beating Coventry in 1989 (Tom Warrender) ⚽ Wigan beating Manchester City in 2013 ⚽ Millwall beating Arsenal in 1995 ⚽ Wimbledon beating Liverpool in 1988 (Tim Lee) ⚽ Southampton beating Manchester Utd in 1976 ⚽ Hereford beating Newcastle Utd in 1972 Does anybody remember these? Maybe the famous Ronnie Radford goal for Hereford on what looked like a ploughed field....... ....and now Maidstone Utd beating Ipswich Town (Graham Lawes) So that once again reminds us that nothing is impossible with the right motivation and capability. I like to start by asking 🤔 "what do we need to do to"........[you can insert your own business link]? #businesssuccess #success #facup #howto

The international break is over and the Premier League returns with a selection of tasty tussles culminating in Tottenham v Arsenal on Sunday. We were mildly more interested in the two England games in the Nations League, due to the fact there’s a new bald-headed boss in town in the shape of Lee Carsley. And although the Three Lions racked up two impressive wins under the interim manager, it still doesn’t get the blood pumping like a Premier League weekend. The Bookie Basher also took a breather while the top flight took a step back, but he’s back from Benidorm and Ibiza, where we shudder to think what shenanigans he got up to. Anyway, those tales of debauchery are for another day - let’s get down to business with some free betting tips for your perusal… Southampton v Manchester United I’ve been on a stag do to Benidorm folks and before that had a week in Ibiza so I’m mega fragile. Indeed Alicante Airport Burger King after a four-day bender will absolutely destroy your conviction in a loving God. But we move on, and there is much to like here in lumping both teams to score. Like many, I am not sold on this current Red Devils team but Southampton have not beaten Manchester United at home since 2003, a simpler time when Avril Lavigne was telling us all it’s ‘Complicated‘. Nothing complicated about the pick here. BTTS reeks of win. Bosh. Suggested Bet: Both teams to score at 13/20 (Ladbrokes). There's more of this kind of magic in the full preview... https://lnkd.in/eMEgZdU4 #tips #bettingtips #freetips #premierleaguetips #tottenhamtips

Tonight, there is a season-defining football match in London between #Tottenham Hotspurs (Spurs) and #Manchester City (Man City). Now, a section of Spurs fans would like their team to lose at home to Man City because that somewhat prevents their bitter rivals, i.e. #Arsenal from winning the English Premier League (EPL) this weekend. The twist is if Spurs wins tonight, yes, Arsenal may win the EPL, however, Spurs also have a strong chance to qualify for next season’s #UEFA Champions League (UCL) competition, i.e. the biggest club competition in the world. And for just qualifying, Spurs will earn about $17m, they will earn an additional $3m for every group stage win and $1m for every group stage draw. Beyond this, because next season, they may potentially play in the UCL, Spurs can attract better players to make the squad stronger and compete better against Arsenal. However, with all these tangible and intangible incentives, some Spurs fans, even ex-players, adamantly prefer the team lose to Man City tonight. Clearly, for these fans and ex-players, hatred for Arsenal’s success trumps love for their success. Sadly, this is the challenge with some businesses too. Some businesses are so obsessed with what the competition is doing that they forget what their customers need. Knowing what competition is doing is great and has its place, however, knowing what customers need and striving to meet such needs is what grows a business.
