📢 Assessing The Impact of the Maharati Programme in Jordan 📉Jordan, with one of the world's youngest populations, faces a youth unemployment rate of 46.1% in 2022 (The World Bank), worsened by reduced education and job opportunities and the COVID-19 pandemic. School closures and the pandemic have deepened educational disparities, especially affecting refugees and women. 🤝To address these challenges, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Jordan Country Office (JCO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth (MoY), with their implementing partner Generations for Peace (GFP) implemented a life skills programme, the Maharati programme, from 2018-2022. The aim of this programme is to enhance life skills, opportunities, and social cohesion among adolescents and young adults, focusing on vulnerable groups like girls, refugees, and out-of-school youth. 🔎To measure its impact, Samuel Hall evaluated the Maharati Programme with two objectives: 1️⃣ From an accountability perspective, to measure the extent to which the planned results were achieved and the overall goals and objectives were met. 2️⃣ From a learning perspective, to understand why and how expected results occurred, draw lessons, and identify good practices. 💡The evaluation found that the Maharati Programme has significant relevance, coherence, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and an impact on youth empowerment in Jordan. The programme addressed emerging educational and socio-economic challenges to meet the needs of diverse groups. 📝This evaluation highlights Maharati's significance in addressing immediate and systemic challenges and provides a blueprint for inclusive and gender sensitivity programmes. Scroll through the insights and recommendations ⬇ from the evaluation 🔗 Find the full evaluation here: https://lnkd.in/egRq9Zzq ✊ Here's to building a future where every young person in #Jordan has the skills to thrive!

"Education for all Children in Africa: The Time is Now. 📚🌍 Education is the cornerstone of a brighter future, yet millions of children across Africa still lack access to basic schooling. When children receive an education, they are empowered to break the cycle of poverty, pursue their dreams, and contribute positively to their communities. Education opens doors to opportunities that would otherwise remain closed, fostering innovation, economic growth, and social development. It equips young minds with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate and improve their world. Every child educated is a step towards a more just, equitable, and prosperous society. Yet, barriers such as poverty, gender inequality, lack of infrastructure, and political instability continue to hinder progress. It’s our collective responsibility to tackle these challenges head-on, by supporting policies that prioritise education, investing in schools and teachers, and raising awareness about the importance of education. The future of Africa—and indeed the world—depends on the education of its children. Let's unite in our efforts to ensure that no child is left behind. The time is now. #AfricaEducation #BreakBarriers #FutureLeaders #TheTimeIsNow #InvestInEducation #GlobalImpact #operationblessing #obtrax

10 African countries with highest number of out-of-school children Africa's educational system is grappling with a multitude of issues, such as wars, climate-related disruptions, and financial hardships, leading to an alarming increase in the number of out-of-school children. Poverty has emerged as a significant barrier to education, alongside conflicts, wrong government policies and climate change, as a substantial number of children from low-income backgrounds are unable to access schooling. The staggering disparity in access to education has been uncovered by a recent survey, which reveals that 33% of school-aged children and youth in low-income countries are denied the opportunity to learn, compared to a mere 3% in high-income countries, highlighting the global economic inequalities. Happy International Day of the African Child #IDAC2024 Amidst all challenges in many African Countries, education still remains the only hope and road to success for African Children. I envision a day where the #AfricanChild shall rise against all odds of poverty to conquer the highest levels of education in this planet. A day where the African Girl Childs future shall be equally focused despite challenging circumstances surrounding her such as Teen pregnancy and Early Marriages. The African Continent shall win when children have unlimited access to education. Educated children are likely to increase their potential and prepare themselves for productive and fulfilling lives as well as reduce poverty in their communities. Let education be our main backbone towards Sustainable Development. Africa shall rise. A forward looking and backward linking Africa will be determined by how well Educational opportunities are provided to African Children #EducationForAllAfricanChildren #SDGs #Education UNESCO UNICEF

AFRICA DAY 2024 | As a group, Logico and CA&S are wholly committed to unlocking our continent’s potential, which is why education is at the heart of our social efforts. This is where our future lives. There are however mountains to climb, with these three issues being the tallest: 1: ACCESS: Simple access to education remains one of the continent's most pressing issues. While school attendance has increased, many rural areas still face imbalances, with children having to traverse great distances. 2: GENDER INEQUALITY: Girls and young women encounter significant cultural and safety barriers, hindering their access to education. (*UNESCO's research shows that 9 million sub-Saharan girls aged 6-11 may never attend school. 3: LOW-QUALITY SCHOOLING: Severe shortages of physical and learning resources, coupled with a lack of modern technology and adequately trained teachers, contribute to this issue. Language barriers and basic comprehension challenges further limit learning. The theme set by the African Union for 2024 has never been more relevant: "Educate an African fit for the 21st Century," with a focus on building resilient education systems that offer increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa. #AfricaDay #AfricanUnion #UNESCO #ThePowerOfAnd #TheLogicoWay #SharedSustainability #SocialImpact

AEI recognizes that quality youth education is key to Africa’s development. A recent Insight Series article by AEI’s Director highlights that in Senegal, gaps in the quantity and quality of training for young people are a major barrier to youth employment. This aligns with findings from a policy brief by the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, which shows Africa faces low literacy rates (77% vs. 95% globally). Tertiary education enrollment is also low, at just 9%, limiting opportunities for higher-skilled jobs. A significant gender gap further affects girls' access to quality education. What do you think some solutions are for improving the creation of decent jobs in Africa? #AfricaDevelopment #SkilledProfessionals #DecentJobCreation
