𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫! <<𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞>>'𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Yesterday, I attended <<venture>>'s pitch competition as an investor, where passionate entrepreneurs showcased how they are blending strong social missions with sustainable business models. The level of innovation and commitment to social impact was truly inspiring and even in the evening I was still bubbling over from the new insights I have gained! For fellow investors and startups aiming to thrive in this vibrant space, here are five crucial questions that can guide our evaluations and preparations: 1. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: How do you measure the social impact of your business, and what benchmarks do you use to ensure continuous improvement? 2. 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: What strategies do you have in place to scale your impact without compromising your social mission. a service should not just stay local - keep in mind how you can grow it in other places. 3. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: How does your business model ensure long-term financial sustainability alongside achieving social goals? 4. 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: How are you leveraging innovation to enhance your social and business outcomes? So many opportinities with new tech, like #AI, #blockchain etc.! 5. 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦: What strengths does your team bring, and how do they align with the mission and vision of your social business? For me, it is especially important to sense the deep passion. These conversations are more than just pitches - they are gateways to potential game-changing impacts in our communities!
