HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose) is widely used in tile adhesive and tile grout applications because of its excellent properties such as water retention, workability and adhesion. 1.Good water retention Cellulose can improve the water retention capacity of tile adhesives, inhibit the substantial loss of water to highly absorbent tiles and substrates, so that tile adhesives have enough water for cement hydration and hardening, thus improving bond strength. At the same time, the addition of cellulose in the tile adhesive makes the mortar gain plasticity, which makes the construction easier and increases the contact area between the tile adhesive and tiles and substrates 2.
